Well, as we are on the month of October, I decided to do something with Layla.
As it's obvious, this is her favorite month and it's expected to see her with a costume. In this case, as I'm myself a Sonic fan, I decided to give her the outfit of Rouge, a character that needs no presentation. After that, I got an idea for a tale and that's how it ended.
The drawing was made by my good friend MohMohpd who did some great details like the wings, plushie and shading. If you want to support my friend, he is open for commissions: https://twitter.com/MohMohpd/status.....270422/photo/1
Finally, I'm also open for commissions and have a Patreon with some exclusive tales:

Anyways, if you want to see what happened to the cheerful goth, read the story down below.
How did she end up there?
As far as she could remember, it was a normal Friday night. She completed all of her drawings, replayed her favorite campaign of Resident Evil 6 and delighted herself with a bag of her favorite kind of gummies. Everything after that was blank as the cheerful goth had a difficult time trying to remember what happened. She also had a lot of questions, all related to her state. Why was she in that place? Who could be behind it? and most importantly, what happened to her clothes?
Instead of being with her usual attire, a black dress and a pair of black goth boots, the goth gal was wearing the same outfit as Rouge the bat. She had a pair of white gloves and boots with pink details, the black bodysuit and the pink chest plate. Not only that, but she also had the same kind of eyeshadow she used and a pair of bat wings in her back, ones that looked pretty similar to the ones of the alluring bat.
Even though the two had completely different styles, with one being too seductive while the other had a more cheerful and nice attitude, Layla considered the bat gal one of her favorite Sonic characters, close to others like Silver and Shadow. Her puzzled reaction was more related to what was happening around her, finding it weird that she was in a different place with a different pair of clothes.
In a normal situation, the cheerful goth would have taken her time to enjoy the scenery, being that she was in a mansion with an elegant motif that she liked. The lack of light also made it look like the type of nightmare-like place that she liked to draw about yet, considering that she still was unsure about what was happening and without an answer, Layla didn’t stop to look at the mansion, option for continuing to explore the place, concerned about what was going to happen to her if she didn’t find a way out.
Layla checked the doors and the windows of the mansion, finding that all of them were locked. As she continued with her exploitation, the cheerful gal went up the stairs, hoping that she would have better luck there. She became calmer the moment she tried opening the first door she saw, one that unlike the others, wasn’t locked. “Oh, good. This one is open. I just hope I can find someone or something that could answer my questions,” Layla said to herself, taking one deep breath before opening the door.
Unlike the mansion, the lights were turned on. It still had that dark and mysterious feeling but Layla was glad to be in an illuminated place, giving her a sense of security. As she carefully closed the door, the goth gal looked around the room, quickly drawn by a jewelry box that was on the couch. Getting closer, thinking that might give her some answers, Layla opened it and found that the box only had a pendant with a cyan-colored gem.
“Well, I’m dressed as Rouge…maybe I’m supposed to take this with me? Oh, what am I saying?” Layla said, quickly giving up on making sense of her discovery while sitting down on the couch. She remained silent for a moment, trying to keep herself calm while also thinking about what to do next, torn between staying there until the morning would come or going out to explore the other rooms of the mansion. Wanting to think clearly about what she was going to do, Layla took another look at the pendant, hoping that would help her with her choice. “Well, I still don’t know what is going to happen, but I can’t deny that you look pretty.”
Even in that situation, the goth gal still found a way to see the good things. While she preferred darker colored gems, Layla couldn’t deny that the cyan gem looked nice. She also found comfort in being with it in the room, a place that looked safe compared to the rest of the mansion. Of course, the cheerful goth still needed to think about what she was going to do, yet she wanted to admire the pendant for a moment, starting to feel a certain attraction to it.
“You know, it’s good to see something pretty like you in a dark and scary place like this,” Layla said, smiling as she moved the pendant closer to her gaze, unaware that was the start of her own downfall. The goth gal continued to admire the gem, looking at it for a moment before her hand did something unexpected as with one flick of her wrist, the pendant started to move from one side to the other in a slow yet steady pace. “So nice…and pretty…and shiny…and…and…”
The more she looked at the pendant, the calmer she felt. After a bad start, where she was scared and wasn’t sure what was going to happen to her, the goth gal was glad to find something that calmed her down. This was her solution to not fall into panic mode, thinking that if she just took a small break and admired the pretty object, then everything would turn for the better.
“I know I need to…think about what to do…but I…can’t look away…I…I don’t want to look away…” the goth gal blushed, thinking about the nice sensation around her body. Soon, she stopped feeling tense, with the only thing that was firm being the hand that was holding the pendant. It was more than obvious that the cyan-colored gem wasn’t a normal one yet it was too late for Layla to look away, an idea that was quickly dropped as she continued to admire the tantalizing pendant and its hypnotic movement. “Pretty pendant…pretty…so…pretty…”
While she was still on the first stages of her trance, with an opportunity to look away, the cheerful goth was taken by the simple yet tantalizing movement of the pendant, so much that she didn’t consider doing that. Yes, the goth gal still was trapped in that dark mansion, but looking at the pendant made all those fears and bad ideas go away, even considering her situation a good thing.
“I…I like this…I like…how this is…making me feel…” Layla said calmly while a light blush appeared in her face. Her reaction wasn’t a random thing, the cheerful goth always found herself taken by the ideas of hypnosis and how the mind of someone could be affected by it. She even read that something as simple as the swing of a pendant would do the trick and that was what happened, she moved the pendant and made the mistake of not looking away. “I’m…I’m loving this…”
Her fear and doubts were quickly dropped as she moved the pendant closer to her gaze. Layla was still trapped in that mansion yet, the more she looked at the hypnotic gem, the less she thought about that. As she continued, there were some ideas that were repeated in her mind, some that were more related to who she really was. Layla was dressed up as Rouge the bat, so the pendant was making her believe she was the alluring bat.
Depending on the circumstances, the cheerful goth would say a few jokes about the idea or turn it down, but as she was under the effect of the pendant, the more she thought about those things, the more she accepted them as the truth. She wasn’t Layla, she was Rouge and while she continued to swing the hypnotic gem, the goth gal started to say those thoughts out loud.
“My name is not Layla; my name is Rouge.”
“I’m a spy and a seductive woman.”
“All the gems are mine to keep.”
Layla was in such a deep trance that she didn’t question those thoughts. Thanks to the pendant, she was in a calm state and believed those ideas were hers and not a product of her trance state. As Layla continued to repeat, her eyelids grew heavier, being in a state of relaxation and calmness, the main thing she was yearning for.
Once she closed her eyes, the goth gal continued to repeat the same ideas of the pendant, not only thinking that she was Rouge instead of Layla, but also embracing those calm thoughts that she loved. A link was created, the more she repeated that idea, the more she believed it and the calmer she felt. Finally reaching that point of no-returning, the cheerful goth opened her eyes and smiled before looking at the cyan gem that hypnotized her.
“It’s a small gem yet, I’d never turned down an opportunity to get a pretty stone for my collection~” As Layla had the idea that she was Rouge, she was acting like her, speaking with that same seductive tone and thinking about the possibility of finding more of those precious stones for her collection. Looking at the pendant one last time, the hypnotized goth gal chuckled, wondering where she could find more of those charming pendants.
Layla wasn’t that cheerful gal who she was. The pendant hypnotized her and took control of her mind and body, making her think that she was that alluring bat with a thing for gems. It was still a mystery how she ended up there, but Layla, or Rouge in this case, only cared about finding more treasures. Only the alluring bat could turn the idea of being trapped in a dark and abandoned mansion into something beneficial for her, an idea that she considered so good that she started to laugh…until she woke up and found herself back in her room.
“Ok, that’s the last time I eat a whole bag of gummies before going to bed…” Layla said while rubbing her head. Thinking about it for a moment, it was obvious what happened: she had a nightmare that was caused by her late-night gaming session and the gummies she ate. While the goth gal still was a bit affected by that harsh night of sleep, she was glad to be back in her room with her black-colored nightgown. Before the cheerful goth could have a moment to think about her dream, she was interrupted by her phone. “Hello?”
“Hi, Layla,” it was none other than Charlie, her best friend. She quickly remembered that they agreed on going out to buy their Halloween costumes on Saturday. Layla was ashamed, she was so distracted with her own projects and games that she forgot that tradition she had with her best friend. To make it up, she let him talk, using that time to think about what she would say. Charlie mentioned some costume stores that were close to Layla’s apartment and also some costume ideas that she might like. “I was thinking of going to check those places today. You want to go too? Or you still need some time to think about what
“Well…” Layla didn’t have enough time to think of an answer. She would never turn down an opportunity to go out with her best friend yet, she didn’t have any idea about her costume. As the goth gal tried to think on what to say, she looked back to her bed and noticed her plushie of Silver the hedgehog, giving her an idea for her costume. “You know…I might have something in mind.”
The cheerful goth still had issues understanding her dream. It felt like a bad experience yet part of her liked what happened. Being in that abandoned mansion, wearing that Rouge the Bat costume, finding the pendant and letting it control it, the more she thought about it, the more she linked it to a pleasant dream instead of a nightmare. There were other things in her mind, including the meaning behind it, but the goth gal decided to wait until later as now it was time for her to prepare for the day.
And find that Rouge the Bat costume to wear.
