Speedpainting: Oni
I'm getting really original with my titles. :D
Speedpainting commission for
of her character Oni. <3 Once the background got rollin' (and I could actually start painting, LOL) this was super-fun! I love long hair and wingsssss. <3
I don't think I've drawn many weapons recently, so a scythe was a good change of pace. :D
Around 3.5 hours (give or take 20 minutes), Photoshop.

This turned out so gorgeous and it was a pleasure to watch it coming together! I utterly love the colors and how she seems to be emerging from the clouds. Those wings are to die for too! You just made her look so elegant and mysterious, and I love the detailing on the scythe~ Thank you so much!!
I love how the hind wing just disappears right into the background, and the detailing in the lead character are beautiful.
I know this is just a speed paint, and limited to certain time constraints, but I wish that you had pulled some of the foreground items more into the superforeground with a darker value. I almost feel that everything starts in the mid ground with the character before it goes back, and a little more overlap would tie this together so nicely!
Wonderful job overall, as always, though ;3

Would have loved to see another hour on this <3 But, there's nothing provoking my curiosity so much that i'd add it in for myself lol <3 Besides, this is great <3 I'm missing a little bit of your usual color play but the purple/pink sky that screams into white satisfies my eyes ^_^
Some great depth in the base of the scythe but i'd have loved to see a bit more foreground <3 as there is little to no background <3
You really know how to fill a time slot :D

Thank you~
Thanks for the critique~ The commissioner said she wasn't as big a fan of warm colors, so I kept it to more of a cool color palette for this painting. I'll keep in mind what you and meradragon said about the background... a bit hard with a lack of time, but definitely good points. <333
