Looong time no upload.
I had some health issues, lots of stress, no free time... so the lost place & urban exploration hobby suffered a lot.
But still I discovered some amazing places.
This railcar, i.e., is one of a kind. A prototype, built in 1965, planned as the new, top modern diesel class VT 4.12 for rural lines.
It was a very modern railcar for it's time, maybe even too modern. The railway authorities in Eastern Germany stopped the project for being too expensive.
After a few years in regular service, the prototype found it's new home here, as a historic monument, next to the driveway of the local maintenance yard. Inside the train, the local model railway club had their club room, with a miniature railway system inside.
When the facility changed ownership after the fall of socialism in 1989, the club finally lost it's home and the railcar fell into decay. The new owner made a few tries to sell it, but it is in really bad condition now. With no connection to any tracks anymore, a buyer would need to get it out of the bushes with a specialized crane... which is way too expensive.
So it seems it will be scrapped one day.

Neat train car. It looks rough yes, but nowhere near as bad as it could be. At least from what your pictures show there doesn't seem to be any rot. Sadly moving it to some place more accessible is what costs the most. Other than that it looks like it only needs a good cleaning, some rust control and some fresh paint. :)
At least it is available as a miniature model in it's original livery. :)

Welcome back. Glad you're doing better and very happy to see you posting again. You've been missed! :D
Amazing that no stupid find and break the glass, only "natural" decay here !
Fun fact it's multilanguage, fun fact 2 the foam of the seats still look good while the one in my car fall apart after "only" ten years
