Ergonomics is a topic that interests me and as I designed the bat character I was thinking how would winged characters wear backpacks, so this was my idea.

Neat concept! Besides a good balance of bags to keep aerial stability (I think, I'm not an aeronautical engineer) the straps don't seem like they would be in the way or be too uncomfortable either. Depending how prominent the tail I can also see the back strap having an accommodation for that. The separate compartments also seems like to good idea to flex with any flight movements. An of course it looks easy to convert to holding by the handle as well when landed.
A nice piece!

The idea I had in mind was to make this product as customizable as possible so other species could wear it as well since bats are not exactly a big market. If you don't suffer from the challenges of having wings, extension bands could be fit so it would behave like a normal backpack (with a front pack as a bonus), plus if you fold the straps in between both sides and latch them together it becomes a travel bag you could take into an airplane =3
Good thinking I love the idea. These would work well as panniers that can go from bike to aeroplane too
I would totally get one for my bike if this product existed =3
That's a good point for allowing a design that can be more easily standardized and mass produced rather than more unique packs for individuals. Makes it easier to mass market too. Though of course making it so a flying bat can carry it around might help market it as well. Comfortable and strong enough with the rigors of flying can be a strong selling point. There is space for a giant logo too but I guess it depends on who the target audience is.
Thank you for the additional information!

It is super fun to think about these possibilities, it can take you in so many interesting tangents =3
I didn't think about the flight characteristics of the pack to be a selling point, but guess it could interest people just like when something is marketed as a military product

Thank you! I had to try and solve some of their problems after figuring out the clothing issue x3
I thought it was her chute... you know, just incase Its a long way down
You could probably fit one in the back segment, just in case =3
This is a great idea! designing things for bats with actual wings is a struggle, but you beat the game
Also this bat is so cute <3 i love bat anthros with wings

Thank you very much! Earlier this year I was trying to draw a bat character and I wanted to give them full sized wings, at the time I kept running into problems and let the idea sit, but this time it actually worked =3
Your practical design skills are on par with your formidable artistic powers!
It a rare and intensely welcome thing to see more unorthodox animal body types being paid respect with specialized apparel and equipment!
Thank you for sharing your cunning vision!
It is also a dizzying exercise to imagine creatures with physiques like this engage in common tasks and self-maintenance!

I frequently run into situations where I can't find a particular product that solves the problem I have, or does things the way I would like, so this ends up making me think a lot about how I would redesign them to be more "me friendly" if that makes sense. I had to do quite a few modifications to my living space because of this. I guess when you are that oddly specific about how you like things it helps you to project these issues to other species like in here ^^
Maybe you will end up becoming an inventor on top of being a wonderful artist?
Most cool things out there were only designed because someone
had been trying to solve those practical problems for themselves.

Dude thats actually so cool. Ergonomics for anthros is honestly one of my favourite parts of design. Especially when well executed. This my friend is great
Thank you very much, glad you liked it =3
I'm also a big fan of the ergonomics side of things and the interesting problems different anthro anatomy brings ^^

This is fantastic design work. Tackling the real world problem of how do you carry stuff if you have wings attached to your arms.
Great visualization of the engineering!

Thanks Kiyo! It was cool to have you along while working on this, we have to do it more often =3
This is a really cool idea, and I love how you designed this for the anatomy!
Thanks Seth, I'm planning to do more things like this, it is quite the mental exercise, but pretty fun =3
