Frolicking In Moonlight

We all have things that ''tickle'' our brains, be it painting intricate models or figurines, drawing, the sight of a certain color. What tickles your brain in that way often recharges you as well. Think of dancing, gaming, listening to music. I love to partake in all three when I'm having a rough day. And ever since I was young there is a particular type of music that gives me a type of goosebumps that no other type can.
At the start of October I took the plunge and decided to create this type of music for myself. Dipping my toe in the waters by creating a melody, then a backing one, a beat, and string chords to support it all. Then sure enough, a verse, bridge and chorus! As of now, it's quite perplexing to be able to say ''I created music''. And I don't think it has fully sunken in yet. But here we are! I imagine a raccoon, having one of those recharging moments I mentioned earlier. Dancing and vibing to a tune underneath the moon. Just like I did after school during my high school days.
This song is heavily inspired by ZUN's (Jun'ya Ōta) work. Which is unsurprisingly quite recognized in the furry community. I am not surprised, as his melodies get stuck in your head in the best way possible.
Thank you for listening, for reading these descriptions. And for being so very patient throughout it all. I have been uploading very scarcely, as I have been in the animation kitchen creating a new short film project. The fact that you're all checking in from time to time is something I appreciate a lot.
Warmest wishes to you!

I'm going to be listening to this while I write my stories, the more calm parts anyway. I've always loved music and felt it been a part of my soul, too
I think it's part of all of us innately! Even some old cave paintings depict people dancing. I'm glad I'm able to spark that part in you with this track somewhat!
Oh I'm getting a nostalgic and just cozy and comfy vibes from this I adore this, def will keep listening to it
Wooo! That makes me really happy to hear, thank you for listening to it!
You did fantastic with this! I could absolutely envision this as the theme of a Touhou stage, you pretty much nailed the style in my opinion. And of course, the animation is adorable too!
My biggest ''reference'' for this track was the first stage theme for Ten Desires. So I'm glad you think it sounds like a stage theme!
It's quite impressive for what you mentioned it to be.
It seems you got quite the knack for all things artistic.

Hell yeah! My man's getting into music! Sounds great dude! Loved the counterpoint and key change
Hahaha, I'm so happy you took a listen to this! Knowing how passionate you are about music. This means a lot <3

I am happy to hear music like this, keep up the great work and do your best ^w^
I can definitely hear the touhou inspiration in this. You did a really great job on this, Luke. ^.=.^
Thanks, Geo. I'm grateful a lot of the Touhou instruments are available online haha!
Holy cow, this is fantastic! I can see this being used in a JRPG when you idle on the main menu. The instruments you used were wonderful.
This is absolutely amazing, Luke! Well done!

I can hear the ZUN influence here.
However, the first few notes ound stumbling. Moreover, the tone of the song jumps between 'action game' and 'dream', being rather confusing. The song h its tride on 0:42, though I wonder if the sound is the soundfont or your composition. Even after hitting it stride, the two sections of the song do not really 'mesh'. 2:37 feels a little uncomfortable... almo stumbling. However, 3:05 feel nice and relieving. I end up feeling tha the piano sections would be tter on their own instead of alternating wi the trumpet parts.
By the by, what is the soundfont you sed here?

Thank you for the feedback! I use a set of VSTs converted from an Edirol SD-90. Zun's primary synthesizer. Aside from that I use the Steinberg Grand 3 for the piano and Groove Agent for the drumkit.
I thank you in return.
That explains the ZUN influence.
By the by, I am surprised that you did not execute me, since my comment was mainly negative (though sincere, since I fel that you needed to know abou the flaws your song has).

Execute you? Please don't assume that. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on it. I loved making it, and that does not change even if it's criticized
That happened a lot with me, not just with critiques.
Even so, a few times, others would react harshly whether the critique was positive or negative.
I am sensitive abou this.
