Everything was lost.
All of the love, the trust, the support that she received in Rock Town, all gone, crashing into her very being like a celestial rock of fire. All that confidence she built up, mainly with her beloved Zera’s help, had been wiped out.
It mattered not that she had no control over the wrongs she did, she did them, and there was no undoing them. Many innocent lives were taken by her claws.
It mattered not that she had her punishment reduced from death to exile, they all wanted her dead anyway, and despite their wish being denied, they surely would come to take her one day, and she would deserve every bit of it.
Now all she could do was fear the outside world all over again. She could only stay trapped in the cave, never to leave past the walls that rightfully engulfed her.
Of course, her dear Zera was there for her. He was her great wing, her sky, but even then, despite his comforting embrace, it felt as though he could not help her anymore. She shut herself from him, unknowingly to his dismay.
“Just leave me alone…” she would say coldly to him sometimes. “Leave me to rot…”
Of course, Zera remained by her side regardless, and only sometimes it did make her feel better, but not enough, not like it used to. Not to mention he was already old, likely he would die soon from his old age, leaving her with nothing but her despair.
She then looked to the wall, and there was the egg.
The egg…
Suddenly, she realized she had completely forgotten about it. Approaching it, she then picked it up in her paws, feeling the rough, scalelike texture against her soft scales. She suddenly felt a warmth spread about her, a warmth akin to a mother’s embrace, and she closed her eyes as she caressed the egg. Then came a different warmth, one that seeped from her eyes, and she lowered her head as tears fell upon the egg.
She exhaled deeply as she felt all her pain slowly fade away. This egg, and the hatchling within, once it came into the world, it would be the one thing that gave her a little bit of hope.

(I held off on posting this for a few weeks because I wanted to work on the short story for it, but screw it, held off too long…. But anyway this is a little scene with Nae’hiria and her soon to hatch egg, a part of my dragon story I’m currently working on. I want to make art based on this story and have story text to go along with it. It just seems like fun to do.)

This sad story was beautifully written! I think it worth the time you dedicated into writing. Keep up the great work, you seem quite skilled in this!
Thank you! ^.=.^ I’m glad you enjoyed it! 💜
And yeah, it seems fun but very challenging even beyond me, but I’d still love to do it, that way I can have more to build from.
At the same time I am working on the outline for the story itself (which itself is part of an even bigger project)

Thankie my friend ^.=.^
It’s slow but it’s coming.
I need the push more than ever xD

You're welcome. And as the saying goes, slow, but sure. Pushing to draw or write something may often lead to hasty results.
That is true.
And to add to it, many times I’ll get even more ideas come up at the very same time xD

I know the feeling too well! At one moment, I'm working on an idea, then out of a sudden, a new one arrives, and now I can't help but wish to quickly finish the now old idea to move on to the new one. It's both great and annoying.
That but also for me it’s very slow a lot of times as well. Basically procrastinating a lot due to lack of ideas and motivation.
I've found that listening to some good music can help with that. Just put something into the background, and write down the very first idea that comes to your mind. Even if it's just nonsense, working it out a bit can bring your motivation back. At least this was rather helpful for me when I had to face the same.
True. That and having your own space. And staying still xD (I’m restless)
