Letters to Leo the Patriotic Lion: #47
Dear Leo,
We have a lot in common, it seems. You see, I'm a die-hard conservative like you are. But as with every other person out there, we do have a few differences of ours. First off, I am a family man with a wife and a second child on the way, and I'm from the Marine Corps working in their IT field from home most of the time. I love America with the deepest of passions and I have met many people who came from overseas to live with us like Americans and to embrace our values and ideals. I am also a Christian as well.
But at the same time, I am a strong believer in LGBTQ+ rights. When I heard that Museveni passed the infamous Anti Homosexual Act in Uganda, it horrified many American conservatives, not just liberals, or centrists even. It was so bad, everybody unanimously here agreed that the bill is encouraging genocide against LGBTQ+ people in Uganda. I would love to rescue the persecuted in Uganda and bring them here, but sadly, it was not possible since your administration rightfully enacted sanctions against that country, like many other countries did, or at least your closest allies. Uganda's neighbor, Kenya, currently upholds LGBTQ+ rights and would have helped in taking LGBTQ Ugandans as refugees, but thankfully the Museveni Administration came to an end, and Lyle the Nomad Lion reversed the Anti Homosexual Act and reassured the remaining LGBTQ+ Ugandans that they would be safe and never persecuted.
Now that's out the way, there's been a lot of misconceptions about drag queens because I am a drag queen performer. As far as I know, the concept of the drag queen has British military roots, where British soldiers who are just waiting at strategic areas than fighting enemy troops directly, would improvise female clothing and makeup to pretend to be women just to entertain their comrades during times of war. Drag queen performances are solely for comedy purposes, from then and today. It is not always in a sexualized manner as some would believe, because I certainly don't do that. Today, some restaurants host drag queen performances, as a form for allowing stand-up comedy for the guests.
Yes, where I work at part-time for fun, people do bring children, so we must focus on the comedy aspects of our performances as much as possible, and be mindful that some families bring children there. Yes, it is true that some schools invite us, but we teach children about what drag queens are, why they tend to be mixed in with the LGBTQ+ community, and how they should respect people from that community. We do not expose children to inappropriate content as some people believe. In fact, many of us drag queens are vehemently against that because to me, that only encourages hate against the LGBTQ+ community, leading down the path that countries like Uganda were once in.
I live in Florida, and I voted for DeSantis because I saw him as the protector of not only Florida, but for America. However, his views against the LGBTQ+ community is extremely questionable, and I wrote letters to him about what I do as a part-time drag queen, and how we're not the perverts that he tends to think we are. Thank goodness our Supreme Court declared some of his anti-LGBTQ+ policies as unconstitutional. But he needs to understand that anti-LGBTQ legislation is what opens our society up to making mistakes like that of Uganda, and other countries that were down that path. I would vote for DeSantis again, though, because he's done a wonderful job as our governor, and as long he understands that Uganda's Anti Homosexual Act was a bill that encouraged genocide and hate in that country, I hope he has learned his lessons from all of this.
In the end, as a member of the United States Marine Corps, I've sworn to protect all Americans, regardless of their views and whatever they identify as because they have the same rights recognized by our Constitution and that I have sworn to protect their rights as well. To me, that is justice, because there's no justice when there's no equal treatment, with Museveni's Anti Homosexual Act being the prime example of injustice. Had Museveni remained in power in Uganda, I would not allow one American, even if they are not LGBTQ+, to be there by any means necessary.
Now that I told you what drag queens actually do, I hope you see us like any other comedy performers. We just want to give people a reason to smile about life and to enjoy life more. Previous generations before us fought for this, and I, with our current generations, will fight for a better future for our country and the world. So what do you think about drag queens now after I told you that I do drag queen performances as a form of comedy to entertain the masses without being a pervert?

Leo's response:
Dear MSG Dubois:
First of all, thank you for your service. It's always an honor to meet the brave heroes who fight to protect our nation and our world, because it cannot solely rely on superheroes to protect it. And I've spoken to a lot of military lately, since the brave soldiers of our sister superhero organization, the C.I.D.F., are working overtime to document and identify those individuals that CNG had transformed into animals. A good chunk of them are active military or retired, and your branch (the Marine Corps) is the branch with the largest number of transformations (although we haven't figured out why that is yet).
Your question is a hard one to another because cross-dressing is forbidden in the G-52 organization, although once (and only once, and it was long before we became a globbal organization officially), did our Commander (Super C) cross-dress to help apprehend a criminal. (The Fab 5 boss, "Callahan Cody" Belachman, went for decades before he finally forgave the Cat of Steel for it, because, as he put it, "What in tarnation are y'all doin'? He was mine!") Super C subsequently apologized to all who were offended (including Cody), went through rehab (voluntarily), and got himself cleansed in holy water (because he went through his own spirital awakening just as I did; it is why he based the G-52 Code of Conduct off the Bible's principles). Do note that he gave me permission to tell that story to you in this letter; he and I frequently discuss what letters I can and cannot reply to, because there are a ton of tabloid terrorists out there, as well as ex-members of STOPS, who are going after the G-52s and their allies, which now includes all those individuals the C.I.D.F. documented in their project, since many of them got superpowers.
However, I've been exposed to my share of drag queens, because here in the United States, we have RuPaul, who hosts a show entitled "RuPaul's Drag Race," in which he judges people hoping to be America's next big drag queen superstar. In the United Kingdom, the late Paul O'Grady was notorious for his alter-ego, Lily Savage. (The first time I ever met the man, though, he was himself and not his alter-ego.) The G-52s know him (or her) primarily from his (or her) era of hosting the game show "Blankety Blank" (which in the US is known as "The Match Game"). RuPaul is also among the many famous people I have apologized to over the years because of the bellowing I've done (although those I apologized to also understand that it was CNG controlling me like a puppet, and that I wasn't able to actually be the real me that God intended).
I think people tend to associate drag queens with the LGBTQ+ crowd (and thus, unbiblical if they want to take it to that extent) because of their reputation for being gay men, and you always have to factor in homophobia. (The same is true for women who do the same, which, as you know, are known as drag kings.) But not everybody who dresses up in drag is a drag queen or king. I therefore think the best thing to do is just let them be them, and I will be me. After all, we don't all march to the same drumbeat. This is why I'm choosing to approach it the same way I do with those people.
This is something the media has a history of getting wrong, because the reality is that while the Lord condemns the actions, concepts, and ideas of the LGBTQ+ crowd, He does not comdemn those who are in it, because they are people, too, and all people were created in His own image. He just takes it as a big slap in the face when somebody says that they get to pick what they want to be, because He decides whether one is a male or female from birth to death. I can only guess He feels the same way about drag queens and drag kings, because they're dressing up as the opposite of what He made them to be. (I just choose to think of it as an illustration of sin nature, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Look throughout history and you'll find all kinds of examples, especially with all the wars that were fought and the reasons people fought them.) However, He still wants His people to minister to everybody, and that even includes drag queens and the like, and those in the LGBTQ+ crowd.
So in short, my feelings are mixed. I thank you for clearing up some of the things about the concept, even though I'll never understand it if the CNG effects ensure I live all the way to the year 3000. Just be aware there will be people going after you because they will preach, "If you were truly a follower of God, you would never delve into that garbage in the first place!" Such arguments may be true, but it is also why we had the hate crimes in Uganda you mentioned. And if it makes you feel better, I have lifted the sanctions off Uganda at this time, since it is seeing improvements under Lyle.
I do worry for you, though, because when I asked Levon how he felt about the topic, he said that the Bible actually does forbid such an act: “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lᴏʀᴅ your God” (Deuteronomy 22:5). You say you're a Christian, and yet you are going around dressing as the opposite gender. "Why?" I thought to myself.
However, I cannot judge, or I, too, will be judged. I have judged, and I have been judged. I therefore can't confront you about the supposed double standard, but I'm giving you a heads up about those who do wish to confront you about it. (Cripto's late grandmother, Chloe Clements, would be another example. However, that's all I can say about that one. The Commander decides when we can and cannot speak about topics like her, and Cripto is still healing from the wounds placed upon him from the way she tried to run his life when she couldn't run her own.)
Ron DeSantis is the man I said would be my best opponent in the 2024 election, and not Donald Trump, and let's be honest; I think Trump's ego is too large for his head, but he keeps going around preaching he is the only one worthy of the job. (I guess you can be the judge of that.) Soon I anticipate having discussions with him (DeSantis) on the subject if we have any televised debates. That may or may not happen; I don't know. I won the last election without even trying or showing up at any debates. Cross your fingers, though. Most of the televised debates we've had are to find an opponent for me, and if you've noticed, Trump has not participated in any of them.
I hope that helps; if not, let me know where I goofed, and I will fix the mistake.
Yours truly,
Leo Zanicchi, a.k.a. Leo the Patriotic Lion
President of the United States of America
P.S. I did once participate in one debate, but the topic was over who was the biggest threat to our world if it wasn't Bendraqi. It was an awkward three-person debate, though, for the other two went back and forth for about 28 minutes, and I couldn't get a word in edgewise. When I finally did speak, I said, "Did it not occur to you two that there are three participants in this debate?" The audience gave me a standing ovation that seemed to last forever, and the moderator could not get them to sit down and shut up. The other two then just looked at me and said, "You win!" They walked off the stage afterwards with their heads hung in shame. The moderator then gave up himself. CNG had nothing to do with that one, though. It's just an embarrassing story that illustrates how even back then, the humans did not trust their own race.
Thanks for your letter again, and for helping us understand the truth about your profession. Take care, now.

Blitz Fox: Back in The Netherlands, many of us would disagree with your views and Levon's views about the Bible forbidding cross-dressing. Since 1811, we've been making progressive policies to support LGBT rights. This is why we have self-cleaning bathroom stalls, which also includes a changing station for the mother and her children. If someone wants to be nonbinary or bigender in my country, we let them be and we don't say anything against this. We let them live their own lives without interruption as long they respect our laws and the lives of others. Many people who are not male or female often wear pronoun tags, which are usually "they/them" so others will see the tag and address them properly. Ludomay share similar views with you about the Bible, but most of us Dutch would disagree with him on that part because socially in my country, we don't think that way. Even most of the die-hard nationalists in my country who voted Wilders dont think that way. In fact, one reason why Wilders got elected is to protect the LGBT from Islam, which notoriously promotes homophobia. Thus countries like Malaysia abolished Sharia Law and embraced LGBT rights.
Chuong: Vietnam has never outlawed LGBT rights and we've been making some progress on this matter. Today, we finally have anti-discrimination laws upholding LGBT rights at the workplace after we convinced Luong to sign that bill.
Catherine: In Spain, LGBT rights have been legal since the beginning but was only outlawed during imperial times for the sole purpose of encouraging our people to produce as many children as possible for our military back then. Today, LGBT rights are fully upheld in Spain so with your views, it might make some of us feel uneasy because it reminds us of our past during our time as the Spanish Empire. Family is important, but so are human rights. *To Leonio* And I'm sure the Pope has warned you and the rest of his cardinals to be mindful of LGBT people because he just fired a bishop in Texas for homophobia. Remember, the Vatican City works with several human rights organizations and the Pope is the last man you want to upset.

Leonio: Yes; he has given me that warning. I do not want him or anybody upset.
Leo: I remember Ludo telling me about Wilders's hatred of Islam, because he hates it for the same reasons Wilders does. But the point of my response was that Christianity does not condemn those people. Instead, it wants those who follow it to take a more peaceful approach in explaining why the Lord condemns such acts.
Levon: Which He does.
Super C: I know it varies from culture to culture as well. If you mention the pronoun tag idea to a specific group of people here in the US, they'll think that's the dumbest idea they ever heard. Others might embrace it.
Leo: *to Catherine* If my views make you feel uncomfortable, that was unintentional.

Catherine: You never made me uncomfortable so you're fine. I'm just giving you a heads up because Spain has a very long documented history of LGBT activity that it goes back before the Common Era, or Anno Domini, which we are in.
Blitz Fox: *To Leo and Levon* Many of us Dutch don't think like that in terms of the Bible being against the acts of homosexuality and transgenderism though. To me and many Dutch, that kind of thinking is why we have people like Museveni, and we don't need anymore LGBT genocide today. We Dutch believe in helping people live their own best lives today.
Zax: *To Super C* As much as I would agree with you about the pronoun tag thing, I also understood why they exist, especially in some of our conventions. Nonbinary and transgenders are encouraged to use pronoun tags to help lessen the stigma against them.
Alpha: In Denmark, we have incredibly progressive policies for LGBT people. Yet, we still have extremely rare cases of homophobia and transphobia. But that's going away and we tell Lenarth to avoid using the Bible to convince LGBT people to change their personal lifestyles because we also don't think like that for the most part. Yes, Lutheranism is our state religion, but Denmark is a country that takes human rights seriously, so like The Netherlands, we dislike Islam due to how Sharia Law is practiced. For example, the idea of a woman's witness being worth half the value of a man's witness is incredibly sexist. Denmark is a country that values equality so much, we just passed a law that bans the burning of religious texts, not just the Quran. You can't burn the Bible in Denmark as well. We still strongly believe in the law of "what applies to one must apply to all". Denmark used to have blasphemy laws, but that's been repealed long time ago.
Zax: Wow so I guess freedom of speech is different there.
Alpha: Very. We're not huge on individualism like America is. We're about social good and social liberties. We also tend to keep to ourselves more.

Leo: *to Catherine* Okay; that's good, and thank you for the heads-up. I think I've always said Anno Domini because it means "in the year of our Lord," instead of Common Era. Likewise, instead of BCE, or Before Common Era, some prefer BC, or Before Christ. Rather confusingly, the birth year of Christ was somewhere between 4 and 6 BC according to what I've read, and not afterwards.
Doughty Dog: Was there ever a year zero?
Levon: Most historians don't document a year zero. It went from 1 BC to 1 AD. *to Blitz Fox* Just as long as there are no conflicts between you and me, I think we'll be fine. I don't want any genocides either; I want those people alive so we can reach them Jesus.
Super C: *to Zax* I get it, too. However, as you've seen, we have adapted the public restroom concept where they're one occupant only, and you pay to get it. All the old people fussed about it, of course, and some even said Mayor Jabowitz should have been impeached.
Cripto: Had my grandma lived to see it, she would have thrown a fit. Then again, she thought all change was bad. It isn't.
Doughty Dog: Was there ever a year zero?
