Cody was simply enjoying some calm time crafting around on a new device! A multifunctioning tool whic- Beep beep! -oh, the ships comms rang up? Who could that be?
It could only be a fellow Technimal or someone Cody gave a communication badge to.. After swiftly tapping a nearby communications cube, a holographic face of a Moogle popped out with a nice and loud "CODYYY! Heyy!",
Cody was obviously a bit startled and fell backwards out of the cube's area of vision, which made the holographic appearance of him vanish on the other end, at least briefly until he got back up. "Ugh, that.. was loud, but ah! Hey, Erakir! What's up?"
"Just ringing you up to ask if you got time? I remembered you wanted to see more places here, kupo! And it just so happens that I got a quest to take care of that involves travelling across a few places here, gotta leave in a little over an hour and sure could use some help with my equipment, too."
Already throughout the Moogle's explanation, Cody already had an ever growing smile across his muzzle, while he already got his ship ready to head right over to Erakir's homeworld.
The Technimal nodded swiftly in response. "Of course! Yeah, I've wanted to go exploring with you, see some of what your world got to offer! Can totally help with whatever equipment things you need help with as well. I'll be there real soon!"
"Really?" Erakir flashed a big smile. "That's great, kupo! Can't wait to travel with you! Guess I'll see you soon then?"
Cody nodded once more with a smile. "Yep! I'm on my way, see you soon~" Communications were cut soon after and Cody made his way to the planet as fast as he could.
Arriving just on time, Cody found a safe and open place to land and rushed out of his ship, stepping right out into the cold. He hurried across the field swiftly, snow crunching beneath his paws.
The Technimal avoided taking too long, didn't want to get snow stuck to his fur or paws, after all it'd melt later and give him a few zaps from the resulting water.
Not a preferred outcome. It didn't take too long for him to arrive at Erakir's location, looking like a temporary stay for the Moogle, a cozy lodge inn within this relatively small, snowed in village.
Wouldn't be long before Erakir and Cody find each other and meet in Erakir's room.
"Gosh, thank you for coming by on such quick notice!" Erakir exclaimed, already dressed in warmer, puffier trousers and a puffier jacket befitting the cold weather outside.
Cody smiled happily and took a look around through the cozy lodge room. Pretty simple, a bed, Erakir's lighter clothes neatly placed on a drawer near the Moogle, his staff leaning nearby.
A window to view the whole bunch of white snow landscape outside and a bench to sit on. "Of course! Can't wait to go sight-seeing a bit! Explore the environment!"
Erakir went to grab his staff and grinned. "Good! We'll have quite the places to explore! Gotta head through the snow place, up the mountain and back down the other side, we'll travel through a thick forest, later a muddy swamp,.. you'll get to experience lots!"
"Wow." Cody chuckled. "Sounds like quite the journey for sure. I'm ready for it! But.." The Technimal took another look around the room, "say, there isn't too much in here, what kind of equipment do I need to help with actually?"
"Well, glad that you ask and that you are ready, too! Kupo!" The Moogle happily hopped up to give Cody a slight bonk with his staff, sending a wave of magic through the Technimal.
"Ow.. what was th-thaaat for? Ah!" Cody found himself stumbling over his own paws.. paw? Yeah, single paw, his two feetpaws were merging, legs too! And somehow his upper half felt a bit detached, didn't only feel like it, it actually detached magically!
Alongside more changes, his tail was spiraling together into a pair of tough, strings of sorts. As did Cody's arms twist strangely to form similar pair of strings, barely offering support.
While more rubbery thick substance shaped up for the bottom of his merging paws and the top of his head, with some etched in surface texture too.
Cody barely knew what was happening before he found himself flopped on the floor as a pair of warm, wintery boots!
I'll say this is the shorter part of this two part story, but uh, yeah! Silly thing I wanted to do and wrecked my head over how to even go about it to make a somewhat sensical mid TF stage.
Usually I see a lot of boot or shoe TF of either 20%, then jump to 80% and 100% or so heh. A mid 50-ish% TF shot is tricky to portait so that makes sense but oh boy, it was a challenge. But turned out pretty nice, heh.
