Another year, another one of these things!
2023 has been rough on me as a creative, as I feel like I've had art burnout since the spring. My work (in print production as a designer) hasn't been able to scratch my creative itch, which lead to a sort of art identity crisis, lol. I'm working on expanding my portfolio, and getting a better job. Despite all that, I managed to wrassle all these pieces for the summary together with relative ease! It's wild that I've still been doing things and creating (something you don't really always see in the moment. I seriously thought I was going to struggle further to put this summary together).
Anyway, as I've done with the last few of these, here are some things from 2023:
- Tabled at my first non-furry event in several years, which was fun to meet creatives at!
- Moved into my own apartment, no roommates anymore, just me and my cat!
- Made many new friends and connections, strengthening my local community.
- Got to see several good good theatre shows and concerts, including Fall Out Boy and stuff my friend worked on at the Stratford Festival!
- Started DM my new campaign, Moonsetter
- Got to host an extremely popular and well-received bird panel at Camp Feral! You can see one of the flyers i made in the August section.
- I now have an iPad? And Procreate? That app is god tier
Reflecting on it, 2023 has been a year of recalibrating and fortifying my bases. Usually I discuss this further with my year-end art piece, but... yeah! I'm still here. Keep moving forward.
