The Babysitters
By Lonelyrider
Lonely finds herself besotted to watch her beau James & his best female friend babysitting a child for the afternoon.
Lonely was reading Pride & Prejudice outside her beau James' beautiful country manor. His servants had set up a fine iron picnic table with umbrella and matching chairs in the snow and lit the metal fire pit for her to keep her warm; James' butler brought Lonely a plate of fine cheeses and expensive crackers and she thanked him with a silver coin from her purse.
"Luke, have you read Pride & Prejudice, it's just lovely." Lonely conversed politely with James' butler, who smiled fondly at her.
"I haven't yet, Lord LightningSword tells me it's very good, as well. Enjoy your cheese & crackers, Miss Rider." Luke said with a bow, pocketing her coin and going back inside, as he didn't favor the cold. Lonely immersed herself in her book and finished another chapter, when she looked up and saw her man & his best female friend, who was an anthro pegasus from the same tribe as her pegasi bodyguard, had returned with James' huge percheron war horse; laughing happily atop the horse and dwarfed by him was a boy of about 6, a little pegasus anthro boy who hadn't quite lost all his babyfat and as such looked very cute.
"That was so fun, thanks mister JL. Amber, what are we gonna do next?" The little boy asked, bouncing slightly atop James' strong stallion, who nickered in a friendly way. Lonely gasped in adoration and put her hand to her bosom, finding what she beheld so very sweet. James dearly loved children, as she knew.
"Well, I was sort of thinking, & I came to the conclusion of...piggyback rides! Grr!" James play-wrestled with the boy, who laughed happily, & lifted him easily onto his brawny shoulders, running around with the kid perched there, who laughed and whooped.
"This is effortless to you, James." Amber remarked warmly, watching James & the boy, who was called Logan. James beamed joyfully at Amber and Lonely kept watching, knowing she should go back to her book, but she just found her lover's natural skill with the child so endearing.
"Amber, James, can we read a story?" Logan asked, playing with his toy train and play sword atop James' big shoulders, James gave a friendly grunt as he reached up and lifted the boy down and sat him on his lap gently, sitting close next to Amber on a tarp and then blanket they'd brought as James' big horse Thunder grazed nearby.
"Okay Amber, what have we got, anything good?" James teased in a friendly way, he and Amber each slung affectionate wings around each other's back and Logan settled, sensing he was safe, as James and Amber showed him together the books his parents had packed for Amber.
"We have The Sailor Dog, The Rat Pirate and Over The Moon." Amber explained, showing the books to the boy, who fidgeted slightly on James' lap as James watched him with a big smile, clearly eating the whole thing up. Lonely sighed wistfully watching it.
"The Sailor Dog. Did you know, he um, he got to go to the pink sea?" Logan asked James and Amber, still playing with his toys as he talked on James's lap.
"That's very interesting." James said kindly.
"Let's hear more about him." Amber said softly, handing James the book, he thanked her and opened it, and Logan settled as James started to read to him in a gentle & warm but strong voice, & once again the boy calmed from James' fatherly energy.
"The sailor dog, Bucky, just loved the seas." James began, leaning in & getting into the story, as he and Amber pointed out the pictures to Logan & engaged him. Lonely sighed, feeling moved again and forced herself to go back to her book, stealing glances at James & Amber sat snuggled & reading to the lad nearby & hearing their soft voices, her thoughts wandering as she tried to continue reading. James had indulged her with a tarot reading from a gypsy fortune teller at a faire they'd attended in the recent past, and the gypsy had predicted marriage and many children in the future for the two of them. This filled Lonely with wonder, but also trepidation. She had zero doubts of James' competence at fatherhood, she'd always been touched by not only his deep love of children, but his natural ease with them as well. However she wasn't that convinced of her own readiness or ability for motherhood, and thus, ambivilance tugged at her, despite knowing, she thought as she watched James wave at her from he and Amber's spot and waving back in earnest, if her birth control magic potion failed & she fell pregnant by James, there was no question to what she would do; accept the offer of marriage she knew he'd hungrily proffer her & await the arrival of their cherub.
"Good thing it's a trusty ol' brew." Lonely chuckled, looking at the black contraception potion in her purse, she gave a last fond smile at Amber and James giving Logan another ride atop Thunder and went back to her book eagerly.
She didn't realize the extent of it yet, but she needn't have worried; she was going to get everything she'd ever dreamed of with James LightningSword, that & much more.
