Shading I'm experimenting a bit and desperately fighting back against impatience, but overall its been my least favorite part of art lately~ I keep looking at some nice gryphs and birds from other artists and its helped but... The impatience xD

Lovely stuff! Yeah I always hear shading is a bit of a pig, but it's good that you're experimenting and practicing with it!
I still feel like I gave up halfway through on this one, I look at it and it looks good for what my art is usually like, but I also see a lot of missed opportunities and a general sense of feeling I failed at whatever it was I set out to do v_v
I admit I am not an artist so I may be saying hogwash here, but in the end like anything (and as frustrating as it is), progress is often incremental. Thus, perhaps identify and reflect on those opportunities, and see if you can get closer and closer to realizing them with each subsequent piece you want to shade. It wont magically make you feel great about it if you still feel you're some way off, but imo, it's a more helpful way of thinking.
Of course, if you can too, be happy for the progress you do make, and let it assist in inoculating you against the disappointment you may receive! Easier said than done of course, and I am not perfect with it, but I hope that helps!

I love the bloated feline belly on the right and the bulging crop on the left. Such a nice view.
