Coughing, sputtering, and trying to rid the acrid taste of soil from his tongue, Tigon struggled to regain his bearings. The ringing in his ears only made it more difficult to orient himself, each new pain another distraction. Pouring rain battered his scales, turning the caked-on dirt into mud. He shielded his body from the falling water with his only wing, eyes flicking to the unfamiliar surroundings. The walls of an earthen crater surrounded him, and he sat squarely in its middle. Tigon’s claws curled and pierced the soil as his gaze traveled across the sundered, muddy ground.
