- Added a new ending related to braying too much
- Some spelling and syntax improvement
Old Patch Notes:
Farmland Beta 1.06
Bug Fixes and changes -
- Fixed state during first meeting with Faye where it was possible to permanently disable game saves.
- Readded the ability to bray once a certain level of donkey brain is achieved, this adds more donkey brain, so please enjoy responsibly
- It is no longer possible to find the rusty key repeatedly
- Added an additional save slot to ease some issues with being unable to go back as permissively as some people would prefer
- Added more guidance to the spellbook; reading it a few times will now allow a better understanding of the words within, making it easier to deduce their function
- Expanded the Examine Self feature, adding several stages of descriptions for the player's changes as they become more of an ass
Farmland Beta 1.07
Bug Fixes and Changes -
- Fixed an exploit where you could use the examine self high donkey brain scene to escape other ending scenes
- Sped up and clarified the link reveal when attempting to cross the field to make it more obvious something is there
- Added a new wandering encounter with Faye at the truck, leading to a new ending
- Added a second layer of guidance to the spellbook; reading it a few more times will now unlock tips that reveal two words that are in a spell together, with a stock response if you're missing one of the words
- Some polish and expansion with some descriptions and text, nothing major, just here and there as I work towards polishing in general
Farmland Beta 1.07.1 - Bug Fix
- Fixed a bug where certain ending flags were not reset on game Restart

Greetings all,
I've recently published version 1.01 of my game, "Faye's Donkey Farm" over on Itch.io. It's available for free, though donations if you enjoy it are welcome, as is any feedback you might have. This is my first complete game, and although small, I'm pretty happy with what I've learned and look forward to working on future projects with what I know now.
You can find the page for the game with downloads here: https://black-robed-mage.itch.io/fayes-donkey-farm

Aaaaa this look so so so cute! I have to ask though, I'm ace and a Lil sex averse. Does this have lewds?
No, the game is fully "safe for work"; there is a good deal of fluffy reference to cute jennies and thinking about them, but it's akin to a teen crush, with no explicit language, details, or lewd scenes.
I'm having a lot of fun with this but I'm sorry I already have donkey brain even with the hints I wrote down the spellbook is an absolute mindfuck for me 😭 I got like 3 results completely randomly, is there a walk-through of the combinations somewhere?
The spellbook is definitely what I'm least satisfied with at this point, even though it taught me a lot about puzzles and hinting. I've been adding more and more helps to it, including just giving the ending spells out in the list.
I'll put together a full spell list and figure out how and where to share it for people who just want / need the answers.

Still haven't figured out how to find the Fairy, but so far I've been enjoying many of the endings and the little setting pieces as well.
Definitely very good for a continually evolving free to try Twine game!

Thank you very much for the compliments, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm putting together a complete guide to make available in the next week or so for people who just want to finish everything, so if you haven't solved it by then, that's an option.
Played a lot.
It is mostly play against unknown features. First: I stuck in fields, trying to find a logic of fairy spotting, first I think is was just random, then found I have to wait in real time.
The book is the hardest part. With ten words, there are 1024 spell variants. Maybe, there has to be suggestion of possible spells in other locations.
There are no inventory, of course It is only the key, but having 3 pieces of paper with natu-retr-ruv will be useful for check state.
Maybe, you have to display donkeybrain value, because it is hard to guess what level needs for a proper ending.
Maybe, allow to steal the book to use spells. Or, the book contains only the list of vaiid spells. The spellwords you have to collect in game, not only 3 last, but everything (for example, ASNS in the barn looking donkey photos).
The fact it is SFW is wonderful!
luc-fae-atru = permanent ability to see where fairy is.

Its a fun tf game. I was absolutely struggling to get the tail based endings until I worked out how to reduce my level of donkey mind.
It hits all the right notes for this kind of game, but like most people here I think my only complaint was the obtuseness of the spells.

I'm also not satisfied with how the spellbook turned out. Even with the hinting and the ending hints giving spells away, it's not in a place I'm happy with. In future projects with this kind of puzzle, I'll work in better environmental details for what a spell does, like how the repair spell is found in a toolbox, and a better UI for casting spells so the parameters are clearer and players can know when they're on the right track to finding a complete spell.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with how things turned out and I appreciate the positive response the game has gotten.

This is ass-tronomically wondrous! The amount of time you put into each and every possibility and making sure each feels slightly different is staggering! O.o
Thank you very much, I'm overall very proud of how it turned out and am already excited to work on some more projects in the future.
Just encountered a little bug(?)
If you're not transformed at all, and use the book to learn that Faye's in the bedroom, approaching her and letting her comfort you all the way through a transformation doesn't work. When you get to the point you're about to go on all fours, and it gives the option to run and stay put, the stay put option doesn't work, but running does.
I think this could be a missing 'ending flag' or something.
Despite that, it's a very, VERY good game!
Also, are there any other spell combinations? If so, please tell me!!

I'll take a look; I'm pretty sure if you're not transformed at all, you should be forced to run, as in "coming to your senses", but there may be a weird link in there at some boundary of settings. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm working on putting together a proper ending guide for the next update, which will contain all of the spells. Most of them are listed in the endings list. For reference, there are 10 total spells in game.

Tbh, I've only gotten the bad endings so far of 8~ hours of playing x3
Never once escaped the farm because I don't know how and/or I just go with the flow and let myself get transformed >w<

Bad Endings don't necessarily preclude happy endings.
I've been very gratified by the number of people who have enjoyed wandering the farm, taking in the setting, and exploring all the different ways they can become a proper jack.

Well, in my case, any ending where I'm a dumb Donk at the end, means a happy ending for me lol.
I only recently started trying to get all the endings (properly this time, (so trying to avoid Donking out), but I'm unsure where I can get the "Natu" spell word from. Could you gimme a hint/location?

The path to the Natu spell starts by going to the edge of the farm, trying to get through the grain, and then waiting for a bit; you should explore from there on your own with different levels of change, I'm sure you'll enjoy the different options you can encounter.
I've tried doing that and met the fairy on several occasions on different levels of transformation and Donkey brain. But it either gives me a bad ending either through being too Donkey brained, or failing the test. And when I prove I'm Human, it only sends me back to the edge of the farm.
Is there another timed option alongside the fairy? Or am I doing a dumb and missing something? >w<

You have one of two options to get the spell; you can either go with a moderate level of donkey brain, around when Bray turns into Bray Forcefully (if it changes when you attempt to cross the field you're golden), and then complete the test and ask the Fae questions. Ask them to teach you magic and you'll learn Natu. The other way is to go visit the Fae just below max Donkey Brain but resist willingly joining the farm, and the fae will teach you the spell for entertaining them.
Perfect, thanks a ton!
This'll definitely help, as I've surprisingly never had either happen to me naturally, so far at least.
Can I also suggest a possible feature be added? The endings where you need Faye to be in certain locations can get a tad boring when you need to keep cycling back and forth to them from different locations (for example jumping back and forth between the Silo and Truck until she arrives at the Truck). I think to possibly counteract this, add a "Call Out To Faye" button, which'll get her attention from wherever on the farm and make her arrive at your location. Of course, only if it's possible and you wanna do it. It is your game after all, and a good one at that <3

I wanted those encounters to feel like random, almost secret encounters; overall I wanted different endings to be different levels of obvious / consistent, and I'm fine with some being more difficult to find. I realize that can make some harder to repeat when you're just craving a specific encounter, but in general I think it works well enough for what the game is.
I'm not sure how much I'll open up debug tools in the future, as a lot of the backend wouldn't exactly be easy to add a button for, but it's not impossible and depends on my workload elsewhere; I do want to move on to other projects in the future.

I understand that. Well, I hope future projects include Donkeys and Transformation!

I mean, they'll definitely have transformation as a part of them, that's kinda my brand. I want to expand a bit more into how I use them and build more of a narrative and theming; I'm happy with how this game came out as a small experience that's very focused and constrained, but I'd like to expand on game mechanics and build more legitimate puzzles and exploration.
