According to studies, about 54% of those infected have visual and auditory hallucinations in the first few days and delusional dreams at night. Such phenomena may be caused by the fever that accompanies the spread of the disease, but almost universally, those surveyed were united by reports of being "visited by a wolf that follows them" or "seeing themselves as a wolf." It was also reported that the "wolf" sometimes talks to them, but none of the interviewees could recall the details of the conversation. The scientific community unofficially refers to this phenomenon as "Wolf Howl Syndrome". The reasons for its occurrence are unknown to modern science and can not yet be explained.
