A new "animation cel" by Asher!
Bryce, the hapless reindeer we met all the way back in Season 2 Episode 1 ("Your Best Friend"), was understandably both afraid to go back home and eager to make up for all the trouble he'd caused with his little "children's toy" that turned out to be reprogrammed spy drone from the year 2043.
Emmet agreed with the need to do penance. If he and Sully were going to be forced to chase a maniacal time-traveling smilodon all across history, the least Bryce could do was mind the shop while they were away. But there was no way Emmet was going to hand over his lab coat and omnispectral monovisor to an unproven outsider.
Bryce was going to be a Substitute Sully, and if he behaved and kept the explosions to a low roar, he might even be paid for his diligence.
But the befuddled buck, whether consciously or unconsciously, took his "Sully" role a bit too close to heart, and went exploring in places—and bumping into levers—that his better instincts should have had him steering clear of. Not that he had any clue about the history of those bots. No matter: history is about to come alive!
(The animated series took pains to avoid the violence and nudity in some of the concept art. While the showrunners wanted to use Season 2 as a pivot from imparting science facts to teaching kids about history, they still made room for "cartoon mayhem" episodes such as these.)
