I went to the Prancing Skiltaire yesterday to visit Mark. He is back home, and everyone is doing everything they can to keep him comfortable. I only got to spend a few moments with him as he was having a hard time staying awake, and I didn't want to overwhelm him. I said my goodbyes, and left some gifts, got them something to eat so Rod wouldn't have to cook. It's been a stressful and exhausting situation for everyone involved and I know they appreciate all the help they can get. Thankfully so many local furs have banded together to lend a paw anyway they can. While I am devastated to be losing a dear friend and someone who is so very important to this fandom, I feel comforted to know that he is being well taken care of and is in good paws.
Please, if you can, send them as much encouragement as you can, as it is very much needed. If you would like, please consider donating to their GoFundMe, to help with medical expenses. Every little bit helps. https://gofund.me/269b68f3
If you live in Southern California or in the Orange County area, please consider paying them a visit, as time is very precious. Rod says they are taking visitors from 10 AM to 10PM and please knock, don't ring the doorbell. If you have access to the Skiltaire Telegram group, that is the best means of contact.
above was the sketch I left with Mark yesterday to thank him for everything. For being an amazing friend and for everything he's done for this fandom.
