The Bristlecone Pine is among nature's oldest living witnesses. They've shaded both sheep and man for millennia. The reward for their patience and hardiness through America's nadir has been the conservation and appreciation shown to them by so many people now.
This piece is a commission produced for clostridium! I had a great time with this piece, and I'm very honored to have
been chosen to draw such a fantastical location, as it's also within my own state of California!

I had initially thought these trees were windswept from this artwork. but I looked up pictures of the valley and they're even more amazing looking than I could imagine. Powerful landscape portrayed in this.
These trees are some of the oldest organisms alive on Earth, some growing to be over 4,500 years old!
