Managed to finish another miniature. This time, it's an updated miniature for my custom chapter's Chapter Master. For the first time fully painted by myself. With the current rules removing the lines between Firstborn and Primaris Marines, I figured I would let him cross the Rubicon Primaris in order to have an up-to date designed miniature.
The previous version can be seen here, and the very first one here!.
For the main body, I used the Ragnar Blackmane model. Pretty much his entire equipment was changed to bits from 3rd party publishers (Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Sword, Backpack, loincloth) and some 3D printed stuff (the skull hanging from his belt and the shield, which is modeled after the old Legion Firedrake shields). The base is from Darkartminiatures and I use these kinds of bases quite a bit, as also seen on some of my older mini uploads.
Ragnar's fur cloak was filed down and got a coat of green stuff, using the same roll to make a scale pattern I used for the previously posted mini. The purity seal conveniently covers up a little error in the process.
The sword was painted using a tutorial for molten steel like effects, which I am fairly satisfied with.
The chest emblem was made by using two old pieces of etched brass salamanders decorations and the chain with decorations that the original model has in front of his chest was used to decorate the shield instead.
The head is magnetized and there will also be an alternate head without helmet, which I still need to finish up (and it can indeed be seen in the back of some of the pictures, though out of focus).
All in all, I am fairly happy with how this turned out!
