Wh-. Why?! Did they say their motive, their reasons for doing such an action?
Apparently Strype and PayPal want them to act in accordance with their own policies, and of course, PayPal in particular has been notorious for doing what it can to gatekeep NSFW content even when it does nobody any harm. Gumroad seems to be confused about how much of the policy it should follow or not, but either way, every time a storefront site does this shit, it makes us have to pull roots and sell somewhere else. =w=;
Ahhh. I see. Damn. That’s rough, buddy~. <:( Speaking of PayPal and NSFW, my sincere apologies for living a bit under a rock, what’s the deal with THAT?
It's called "conservative capitalism". People in charge of the MasterCard company are pointedly against NSFW content and don't want to have their cards and providers handling it. It's like they're so wealthy and powerful that they can be picky about who gets to give them money now. Tumblr, Patreon, and now Gumroad have all fallen victim to this influence. They won't step on you if you run an NSFW business that's deniable, but anyone trying to run a public NSFW content storefront is likely to run into issues through this crap. They want it out of sight and out of mind. Think it's basically because these same people believe that kids should be able to surf the web without safe search on and then get mad because their kid looked up cartoons and found a porn site. It's a story as old as time itself.
Ahhh. Gotcha. Thank you so much for that. ;D Well. I’ll be~.
