Original -- NEC D65010G031 -- Casio PV-1000
A first attempt at writing music for a potato. Jesus Mary and Joseph, that is quite the name for a chip. The NEC D65010G031 is responsible for both graphics and sound in the Casio PV-1000, though we're more interested in the sound aspect of it.
It's a 3-voice polyphonic PSG consisting only of square waves.
"Oh cool! Does it have noise?" Didn't ya hear what I just said IT'S ONLY SQUARE WAVES!
"Right, sorry. Does it have any volume control." Only on and off!
"Okay. What's its pitch range?" All high notes and NO BASS!
"Is it at least in tune?" The tuning is horrendous. It sounds like mix between the TIA and VIC-I chips yet it's much worse!
"Sheesh. Does it have any interesting features?" Well, it has ring modulation.
"Oh, interesting. Is it any good?" HELL NAW!
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
This tune was written and programmed by me.

I've never even heard of this system. I'm guessing it was Japan-only...
The Casio PV-1000 (ぴーぶいせん, Pi Bui-Sen) is a third-generation home video game console manufactured by Casio and released in Japan in 1983. It was discontinued less than a year after release.
*snrk* OK then.

The very definition of 'beep boop' music. XD
That's actually quite a cheery little tune, despite the chip's shortcomings.
