‘This must be the place, it just looks like your ordinary town.’ Jeid thought.
Jeid was just looking for a new forever home and a suitable job to sustain him for life. He visit a few places before, but they either don’t have his job available, expensive housing, or the distance is too far for him to be a daily thing. Feeling like all hope is lost, he noticed a new sign that wasn’t there before, pointing a path to a place called “Dynamic Springs.” Curiously and with not much to lose, he decided to check it out and see if they have both housing and his job at a decent distance.
He parked his car a few feet away from the town and got out, looking at his surroundings. People, pets, and vehicles as far as he could see just doing their everyday routine. Jeid noticed a building he didn’t recognize, so he made his way over there while waving to the nearby locals. The building was huge with a sign that says “Visitor Center”, he figured this Visitor Center would help him and he entered inside, not ready to what he was seeing.
As expected, there people and some with pets, but there are also wild animals, people in old eras, anthros and hyrbrids, a FREAKING dinosaur, and a bunch of random objects on chairs. He stared at the menagerie of characters before shaking his head and moving towards the front desk, waving to some of the people here. Some like a barbarian warrior just screamed in annoyance, others like a futuristic woman just ignored him, but there are others like a small fairy and a rubber hose cartoon horse girl acknowledged him. As he got closer, he couldn’t help but overhear two woman about their conversation, one a Naga supermodel and a chameleon athlete curling her arm with a dumbbell.
“One of the competitors has turned into a modern TV, it’s less competition for me to be the next Miss Pageant, but it’s also not much of a competition if there’s non to begin with.” Said the Naga supermodel.
“I can feel you on that! My girlfriend turned into these dumbbells and they’ve been helping me keep my muscles in shape. Gotta make the most out of them before they changed into something else.” Said the athlete chameleon.
“What do you think we’ll become next when the wave hits?”
The chameleon shrugged her shoulders. “Beats me! We could anything when the wave hits, though I would like to keep this muscled form for a bit longer if possible.”
‘Wave? Like a tidal wave? And what do they mean by becoming next?’ A lot of questions formed in his mind, but Jeid knew he’ll get answers from the front desk personnel. Thankfully the front desk person is a normal woman, albeit with colorful hair and wide eyes, she was typing something down she noticed Jeid in front of her.
“I see we have a new face here.” She stood up and took her arm out. “Welcome to Dynamic Springs! My name’s Sherbet Sundae, but everyone just calls me Sherby if it’s easier for you.” Jeid shook Sherby’s arms.
“Name’s Jeid, I have a LOT of questions right now.”
“I’m sure you do,” Sherby sat back down at her chair. “Ask away and I’ll try to answer them as best as I can!”
“Okay so first of all, have you not noticed the cast of people in here? They’re not normal around here, are they? Also does this town get constant tidal waves cause I don’t see a nearby ocean or sea nearby? What exactly is this place?” Jeid asks all at once in quick succession.
“To answer all of those in one question, it’s because of what we call it the Reality Wave.”
“The Reality Wave?” Jeid was about to ask what it was but Sherby just put her palm out in front of him.
“Ah-ah-ah! Let me finish explaining and it’ll answer all of your questions in one swoop. To put it simply, it’s a ripple in reality that randomly comes and goes through the town. So you could be just minding your own business one moment and next you’ll end up as someone’s pet or suit, ANYTHING is possible with the Reality Wave. It could hit you back to back or you could go for months after the last ripple. Even the town itself can be affected and it could be a giant haven for animals or even different timelines of the world.”
“Now, the ripple doesn’t affect everyone per say, some could be really really lucky and remain the same or remember what they should be before. Though it’s up to chance for that and it won’t matter as the Wave will eventually alter reality to where your new form is the new norm. As you can see, many of the residents and people visiting just shrugged it off and go one their lives as normal, no point in remembering your old form when the Reality Wave will just change you further. I think that’s everything there is to know of Dynamic Springs, any questions aside from the obvious?”
Jeid stood there, his face in shock by the blast of information and the function of the Reality Wave. “So, once they changed into the new forms, there’s no way to escape from it or fix it? Nothing is safe from it?”
“Ah! I knew I was forgetting something. This place is the only place safe from the ripple, you can consider it a safe zone. Also you can leave out of town anytime, the Reality Wave won’t affect you once you leave Dynamic Springs. Just be wary that if you get hit by the wave JUST as you were gonna leave, you’ll be stuck in that new form and reality permanently. No magic or science can change you back, not even the wave itself can affect you.” Sherby explained.
“Can’t we just stay in here then and not be affected at all?” Asked Jeid.
“You could, but we don’t have the necessities like food, water, and shelter in here. Are you not interested in living in Dynamic Springs?”
“I was hoping to find a decent home and a job close by here, but I’m not risking my very identity for that. I’ll just take my loss and leave.” Jeid said as he turned around and make his way back, only to stop and turned back to Sherby. “Um, when was the last time the Reality Wave hit?”
Sherby thought for a moment. “Well, it has been a couple days since it last hit, I still recall that I was a young male like you before. Or, maybe I was a piece of bread? An ant perhaps? Actually one more thing, where did you park your car?”
“Just a few feet away from the town, will it get affected by the wave too?”
“No, but you’re right by the edge where the Reality Wave can hit. Shame you wouldn’t want to stay, but I still understand your reluctance of Dynamic Springs. Welp, good luck out there and hopefully the wave doesn’t hit you just as you were about to leave!” Sherby said in her chipper voice before going back to her computer.
Jeid exit the Visitor Center and he made his way back to his car, not wanting to take the risks. His car was in sight, he grabbed his car keys and was about to reach it when it happened.
A large ripple waved through the whole town hitting everyone and everything in its path, including Jeid when he landed one foot away from escape the Reality Wave. When the wave hit Jeid, he shivered a little bit before looking around confused.
“That must be the Reality Wave they mentioned. Now, what was I doing again?”
He looked down in his hand, clutching what was once his car keys now a hospital badge. “I have my badge with me and my phone, there shouldn’t be any reason for me to be here. I don’t even own a car, so what am I forgetting?” An alarm rang from his pocket and he picked his phone up, his turned wide at the time on it.
“Shoot! I’m about to be late!”
Jeid sprinted back into town, not knowing that the wave is altering reality around him. Cars that were once there now became living pets, people becoming inanimate objects, some even had their gender change yet to them their form is what they’re supposed to be. As he ran, his feet started to ache and it was slowing him down. Cursing under his breath, he lifted his shoes and socks one by one until his feet are freed, growing pink scales and two of their toes merging into a three toed feet with dull claws at the end of each toe.
‘I knew I shouldn’t try out footwear, they don’t even make ones for my size.’ Jeid thought to himself, believing he always had pink scaled feet as he continued running.
The pink scales continued upwards his body, spreading out like wildfire while also making adjustments to fit the new reality. His tailbone grew longer until it formed into a dragon tail, thick at the base slowly thin at the end as it ripped through his pants.
That’s not all the pants would suffer as his hips, thighs, and butt slowly filled up like a balloon, causing tears on the side until he had child bearing hips and a big bubble butt. Something else would disappear underneath his clothes as his manhood soon shrink and leaving nothing but an opening in its place.
Jeid, now female, would’ve looked down to inspect but she was too busy fighting against the clock that she didn’t noticed she is now covered in pink scales with a lighter pink underside stopping above her flat chest. Her arms would thin out with one of her fingers merging into another one and also growing dull white claws, leaving her with four fingered claws. They would slim and give her a feminine look, which she quickly took a glance at her claws and turned it around.
‘I really should get my claws done after work. They’re starting to lose their white color.’
Soon her back caved in and her spine curved a bit more, accentuating more of her chest while her waist shrunk inwards. Now having an hourglass figure, all of the remaining fat went to her chest, two orbs filling out until she sported a pair of large mounds. This would affect her movement though as with nothing to help support them along with a tight fitting shirt, they bounced around with each step.
‘Dang it! Should’ve grabbed one of bras before rushing. These things are killing me.’ She said, cupping one of her large breasts in annoyance.
She huffed, blowing out some steam in her nose as they pushed out and fused with her mouth into a small dragon snout. Her ears would soon shrink until all that’s left was a tiny hole barely visible to anyone. A slight sting in pain occurred at the top of her head, two nubs growing out longer and curved back until she now has a pair of horns. Now her hair grew out longer until it reached her back, become shaggy and turning into a magenta color while her eyes changed to a bright green color.
Jeid had now changed into a pink dragoness, although the name Jeid would soon be forgotten in her mind. Maybe one of the patients was called that but not her, her name is Paula Cherry, a nurse whose about to be late to her work. All around her, reality changed to where the town is run by a bunch of hybrids and it was just a normal day to everyone. The reality decided to help out a little with one last change on Paula.
Her clothes that were ill-fitted would soon morph into something more appropriate and suitable for her. Starting with her pants, they slowly turn white and shrank upwards stopping at her thighs into a blouse, her underwear turning cotton turning into crimson panties.
Next her tight fitting shirt would loosen, turned white with folded collars and chest pockets with buttons going down at the front. Though not all of the buttons were closed as a few of them were left opened to make room for her breasts, showing a large amount of cleavage. Forming underneath her shirt are straps onto her shoulders which connect to a long one on her back, cups forming around her breasts and lifting them up for support. Her badge moved over and clipped onto the left side of her chest pocket, the image changing into an image of her smiling with her name.
Paula sighed in relief with her crimson bra, which is slightly visible in the open shirt, as the back of her shirt had two open holes on them. Like a countdown reaching the end, two pink wings exploded out from those holes and she immediately glide through the air. This helped Paula not only with travel time, but it also helps rest her legs a bit while stopping her chest from moving around a bit.
With a quick flap Paula glided through until she made it right at the entrance to the hospital where she worked. Rushing in, she soon stopped at the front desk, a salamander hybrid on the desk, just as the time hit opening time.
“Cutting a bit close on that one, Paula.” The salamander woman said.
“Sorry, Zeiry. I barely made it with the Reality Wave changing everything. Luckily I wasn’t affected by it this time.” Paula said, catching her breath.
“Eh, even if it did, we would still act like it’s all normal. Don’t worry too much about it, just get the day started, we have patients coming in soon.”
“On it.” Paula pass by her before she quickly interrupted.
“Say. Wanna go to that new grill restaurant after work? I heard that place has a grill in the middle of their tables and we can cook our food there. I’m curious on trying it out, if you like.” Zeiry asked.
“Sure, after I get my claws done. They’re starting to lose their shine.” Replied Paula.
“5:30 pm as usual?”
“As usual!”
Zeiry nodded before they both went to work. Despite all of the changes to everything except the Visitor Center, in their reality it was just another normal day at Dynamic Springs after all.
Something I was interested in doing and try my hand on it. Sorry the beginning’s a bit long, lots of info dump used. Might have to shorten it the next time I do something like this. At least we have a new dragon nurse with us.
