I do believe it's a term for people who tend to flake out early on planned events.
Honestly I think visual association of the slang with the punk type character works well!
Maybe it's the vaguely more British English-ism of the word that suits a punk so well!
Honestly I didn't realise it was such an uncommon term writing this 😂
Yeah, basically someone who flakes early from a party or something. As the friend who was an early riser who lived the furthest away, I was a chronic fader all through school and college 😂

Its always good to learn things that aren't as common as one thinks. I didn't know about the term fader, but hearing I can definitely say that I was a fader at many points in my life. XD
Oh yeah, I was a terrible fader! To make up for it, I was amongst the last to leave a birthday event this weekend 😂
A nice scene of goodbyes,
which drain away the cheerful atmosphere
like heat escaping a beer bottle left under running cold water.
The last exchange of the piece – with Trixy giving Chloe
a testing look, as if to ask is she's going to evaporate,
as well, meeting some previous engagement
that doesn't include the opossum,
is powerfully relatable.
Or maybe Trixy was simply expecting to get a hug of her own after Glitch?
Being a hardass may earn someone a measure of respect,
but it's not a mask that comes off easily.
Thanks for keeping your story rolling,
through all the stark and subtle moments!

We will see more of Chloe and Trixy! Not soon, but they'll be back!
More will hopefully be revealed then!
Glad you're enjoying it still, and thanks for the nice comments as always!

I'm happy to witness this story without speculating too far ahead,
and without delving too deeply in the preceding timeline.
Thank you for sharing this setting
and the story unfolding within it
with the rest of us!

We'll see! I have and will be dropping hints and clues as to what's coming throughout! I'm hoping people will be able to read the whole story end to end and see what characters were thinking, knowing what's coming for them!
