That other person approaching Dione in this strange library-like place is an anthropomorphic female deer with Asphodel flowers growing over various parts of her body, wearing a robe and carrying a wooden scepter with her. The stranger introduces herself: "So you've arrived here, Dione... My name is Persephone. I know being hungry or an actual need to eat isn't a thing here but since you can still taste stuff, can I offer you something? Do you want some pomegranate seeds, maybe? I've always got some with me.", though Dione says "No, thanks." to that, "What... What is this place? Is this... some kind of afterlife?", so then that anthro deer named Persephone gives the desired exposition:
"This library we are in now is called the Asphodel Bibliotheca. You could call it something... between your life and your true afterlife. Look, since your life was not only cut short but the last months were spent in pure agony, this here is giving you another chance to live or even many chances to live to make up for it, just seems fair that way. So this is why you're here now. Every single book in here contains one of your potential lives, each from another universe than the one you originally came from. So yeah, the multiverse factors into that. Now... if you're looking for a specific life in here, you could just feel which one of those books contains you making a certain choice."
"Is this... Is this a normal part of everyone's afterlife?" "Oh no, certainly not.", Persephone replies, "As I said... the amount of suffering you went through just made you one of the exceptions. And don't worry, you're not all alone here, as I am here with you, even if I'm simply here to guide you. Anyway... you won't have access to memories of the Asphodel Bibliotheca or your other lives while exploring those other lives, so that you can only really react to the differences after each of the lives end. And since this place is located at the so-called Edge of Reality, as some random magician named it a while ago, time works kinda weirdly here, so you wouldn't actually spend entire lives reading the books, but since the books give access to all those alternate lives, you'll still "live" through it all. In other words... using one book and therefore living through the life in it feels like an entire life worth of time to you but only a few moments to me here... or anyone else who is also at the Edge of Reality, the latter of which I deem unlikely."
Dione does bring up though: "If time is working so strangely at this place, wouldn't that also mean it isn't impossible for someone to enter this place at a completely different time while still getting here at "the same time" as me getting here?" "Hm... yeah.", Persephone admits, "You've got a point there, that's not out of the question to happen."
Part 3 - Childhood

The magician siblings get to a location here at the Edge of Reality made out of what looks like giant toy blocks of varying shapes, sizes and colors, from small to gigantic ones and anything in between. But the antagonistic Meowscarada named Ace already has his first attempt of sabotaging them when he uses a magic trick to make a big gemstone-like obstacle resembling a diamond in the only path they could progress through. "Hah! Good luck getting past that!", Ace tells them with hostile irony, as he then just watches things unfold, then stating: "Ladies and gentlemen, will the magician siblings succeed or will their path already end here?" The five siblings figure out pretty quickly, that this obstacle seems to require all five of them to hit it with enough force. Ace knows Heart is too gentle and soft to keep up with the others in that regard, and much like he knew, when the five of them attack the gemstone together, Heart is the only one who doesn't hit it hard enough, causing their attempt to get past it to fail. Ace grins, expecting this to cause the others to berate him or otherwise complain, evidently having put this obstacle in their way specifically to cause conflict between them.
But instead... Club tells Heart: "It's okay, don't beat yourself up over it." "Yeah!", Spade agrees, "You are how you are.", with Jolly also adding: "It wouldn't be right to force you to be someone you're not, yeah... We'll just have to come up with an alternate solution to getting past this obstacle." And indeed, they do figure something out, soon getting out a piece of cloth they brought along and waving it around themselves, "magically" disappearing while sight to them is obstructed this way, only to appear on the other side of the obstacle. Heart remarks: "G-Good thing that we at least brought a few tricks along with us to here... j-just in case." In response to seeing this, Ace just facepalms at how he didn't see that coming, since he expected them to come here fully unprepared.

The first alternate life Dione chooses to explore is of course one where she didn't make the choice that got her cursed, since that cut her life way shorter.
The Perrserker thinks quickly, realizing that Pallas must have figured out about his actions. So the Steel Type Pokémon hides behind Dione, stating: "Oh crap, this guy followed me all the way here?? Please don't let him get to me, I think he wants to hurt me... I'm just an innocent kitty!" The black scaled goblin is approaching, with Dione deciding to let things play out for a few seconds longer before acting right away. "That's a murderer.", Pallas lets her know. That's quite a serious accusation, so Dione turns to the Steel Type Pokémon trying to hide behind her: "Is that true?..." "It's not, I swear! I'm innocent!" Not knowing who is telling the truth here, the female anthro moth asks Pallas: "Can you... prove what you're saying in any way?..." "Well... I could make a threat against him, but you might think he's then just admitting to his crimes just so I don't harm him, so... you'll just have to trust me. I'll bring him to this planet's police. You can come along if you don't want to risk me potentially ending his life before then. I could tell you I'm a pacifist but... again, that's something you'll just have to trust me on. The choice is yours."
Dione thinks about it some and then ends up deciding: "I'll... come along. The police can then check for themselves if this guy is what you accuse him of." "Good choice...", Pallas states before dragging the Perrserker with him using psychic powers, as Dione walks with him.
Pallas lets the police have the criminal, after which the black skinned and red eyed goblin talks to Dione: "See? I brought him to the police just like I said I would." "I wasn't sure if it was the right choice to trust you, to be honest.", the anthro moth admits, "I mean, no offense, but you genuinely look like a bad guy. Especially with those claws. Though to be fair, if you'd actually smile, you'd probably look kind of cute." "Whatever.", Pallas deflects the compliment, "What's your name anyway? I'm Pallas." "Dione." "Huh... another person named after a titan.", Pallas notes, "You... You're not from here, are you? From what I've read about, anthropomorphic moths with paws like you are the dominant species on Planet Hetrocera." Dione is impressed about this guy knowing that, affirming it: "Yep, that's where I'm from. So... you're very educated, hm?" "What do you think got me to become a pacifist?", he points out, "I've... simply learned about how much bad is happening in this universe. Trying to be the best self I can be is the least I can do." "And where are you from?" "I'm just... essentially wandering around across the universe. I don't really have a set home." "That's not really answering my question...", Dione notes, so after a bit of hesitation, the goblin tells her: "My kind was... entirely eradicated out of fear of what we're capable of. We were called Angels of Death, but... not because we caused death, it was merely because some alien species feared our powers that much, merely because we were capable of causing death without actually causing harm for real. I'm... the only one to survive the genocide..." "Angel of Death?", Dione wonders about that title, so that Pallas lets her know: "It makes more sense if you'd have seen us in our other form, which we can only use very, very rarely."
"I feel bad for you...", Dione then says, "Do you need a hug maybe?" "Nah, keep your hugs to yourself.", Pallas denies it even if he'd appreciate it, "But... we can stay in contact, if that's okay with you. I haven't really had much luck making friends due to... well, what you said yourself, me looking like a bad guy." "We'll be friends then.", the anthro moth decides with a smile, "I'll gladly give that to you."
