Letters to Cripto: #56
Dear Cripto:
What makes you the ultimate super fan of Sonic the Hedgehog? Was it the games, the TV shows, the music, or something else? Sonic was my hero, too, even though I didn't idolize him. After all, the Bible says we are not to worship idols. Anything can be made into a god, but there is only one real God. (I bring it up because CNG killed my next-door neighbor, who turned out to be a schizophrenic man; the man kept a shrine to Sonic and his friends in his living room. I liked Sonic, but not as much as that.) I also remembered something about the whole thing of your "army" (all those canon characters) began with Sonic and his friends. Yet Dr. Eggman hasn't even bothered to try anything lately; he must be sore afraid of Leo the Patriotic Lion.
I'm also waiting to be documented by the C.I.D.F., but what I cannot figure out is why CNG still transformed me, since I became a Christian at the age of six. Yet I'm no longer a human being; I am a bobcat, and the transformation to me happened when I was 18. I thought it left you alone if you were a believer in Jesus (and there is no reason not to believe in Him). Any ideas?
Sincerely,
Jessica Parker, age 29 (female bobcat, formerly human being)
Joplin, Montana, USA
P.S. You can just call me Jess.

Dear Jess:
I wouldn't call myself "the ultimate Sonic super fan;" that's just what my fans think I am, probably because Sonic and his friends are the ones we interact with the most. That really began when Dr. Eggman had the feud going on with Bendraqi; the latter has since turned over a new leaf, but the former still has a grudge on him because when he was still evil, the two were going back and forth stealing one another's ideas for themselves. People still think they have a feud going on, but there is nothing Eggman can do to Bendraqi now. (Yes, it's true that Eggman also fears Leo and his parallels more than anybody else; I'll leave it up to you to figure it out.)
The C.I.D.F. would be better ones to ask if you have any questions on CNG (and Super C also is a good one to ask because he's also Caticonian by birth), since they are experts on the supernatural, although they don't always have the answers you may be seeking. All I do know is that CNG was so desparate to eliminate humanity from this world because it thought it was "too savage of a race." You and I both know the world cannot and will not exist without humanity. Be sure to talk to them if you are to be documented. We can't have the forces of evil going after you or anybody else that CNG had transformed from humans to animals (and that does include me).
What I do know, however, is that CNG had deviated from its patterns of leaving Christians (and Jews) alone by doing the transformations regardless, but that was short-lived. Part of that came from the fact it wanted Earth to be another Kriegland, and colleges are reporting that their entire marching bands and/or pep bands have undergone such transformations, whether or not they were saved. Eventually it gave up, and it ultimately put an end to itself in 2022. (That's what made CNG so frustrating. The only thing that could beat it was itself, and it did.)
As for why Sonic was my favorite video game hero, my guess is that it's simply the franchise I had the most experience with in terms of playing the games, although I've only ever beaten one game in the franchise: "Sonic Heroes." A good chunk of it is the soundtrack to the games, and you might have noticed that my rock band, Furry Fury, sings and performs a lot of songs from those games, whether or not they were written by Crush 40. (Both that band and SEGA actually commissioned us to cover some of those tunes, believe it or not.) I am wired to handle rock music better than any other genre (but I don't rap, and a number of songs concerning Knuckles the Echidna are rap and hip-hop, for whatever reason. (Do note that even if I had stayed a human my whole life instead of turning into a tiger 24 hours after I was born, which is again CNG doing its dirty work, the fact I am autistic would have led me to pay special attention to things with anthropomoprhic animals anyways.)
As a result, when that whole chain reaction started with the canon characters that make up my "army," it began with Sonic and his friends; they were the first ones into our real world. Tons more have followed since, but as the C.I.D.F. have revealed, it doesn't cause a time paradox. It prevents one.
I hope that helps; if not, let me know what I missed and I'll fix the errors. Thanks for writing to me, and keep it pure out there.
Yours truly,
Nathan Knight, a.k.a. CriptoCat (Cripto for short)
Frontman for the rock band Furry Fury
