I had an interesting convo with a friend the other day: how would history change if giant anthros evolved alongside humans? The honest and most realistic answer is probably a lot of violent wars. But who knows, we live in the boring timeline where that didn't happen. *sigh*
sketched this up cuz I was bored, not a roman expert but I think the armor looks kewl.

humans fight each other enough as is, imagine if there were other intelligent species. humans just hate things that are different.
Well, the thing about that statement is it assumes that both the hatred of the different is inherent to being human, that difference is based upon an absolute truth and not the context within which makes something different, and that wars are usually started because of fear.
In short, most wars are started because people are trying to defend themselves or that they're trying to grow their own power. Now it's easy to gain power by playing on people's fears, and easier still to exercise that power by starting a war, however it wouldn't happen more often because it's literally impossible to not find A difference between any two humans. So if it's already so common, why would one more way for things to be different (species of anthro) be so ground-breaking that it starts a significant number of wars?
In addition, humans don't naturally fear the differences between humans, that is a learned behavior. This is easily displayed by talking to your average child, but in addition it is shown by how few people will immediately abandon the area if someone without their same exact shape/color/style is present. It is a subsection of humanity that holds fear towards different humans, and TBH I'm tired of having to deal with their BS ideas (which is about half the reason I typed this all out)
