Dione finds happiness in this life, a life not cut short by getting cursed, a life shared with friends, not just consisting of Coeus, Tethys and Oceanus but also Charon and Pallas this time. This more reasonably long life has her become a marine biologist thanks to Coeus helping her with his high intelligence and his profession being related, as he is a scientist specialized in biology too. Becoming a marine biologist seemed only natural to the female anthro moth after all, with her fascination of the beauty of the ocean, thanks to her deceased friend Higeki. Good friends and a job she enjoys, seems like a pretty good life this time.
However, life of course isn't all perfect, as Dione keeps returning to feelings of loneliness despite the great friends she got to care about her. After all, already when she was younger, she wanted to find someone to love, get married and start a family. Not wanting to die alone. And sure, she has feelings for Coeus, but since he doesn't seem to have any romantic interest in her at all, she doesn't even give that a try, trying to convince herself that she shouldn't want more than what she has now when what she has now is already fulfilling enough. She also wishes Higeki could be part of this friend group too, not forgetting about that friend she wished to have stuck around for longer, that friend who died not even all that long after Dione's friendship with her began. And while Dione's life continues to go on, Charon continues acting awkward around her even though he appears more confident towards the others in this friend group, with her continuing to not think about why that may be.

Dione eventually is about to face death once again but this time thankfully from old age many years later. She doesn't die alone, as the at this point also old Coeus spends so much time with her that he is inevitably there when it happens. As she is about to die in the hospital bed, she simply tells him: "Coeus?... Thank you." "Heh, for what though?", he replies, making her clarify: "Thank you for... not letting me die alone. You know that means a lot to me." In response to that, Coeus then tells her: "In that case... I gotta thank you too, Dione. Thank you for being such an important part of my life. Soon, you can... rest in peace. You've certainly earned that. And I'll... keep you in my memories." She smiles at him a bit. Later on the same day she then dies peacefully.

After having lived her second life, now being back in the Asphodel Bibliotheca, Dione can actually react to it: "Woah. That really was like living through that whole life. Kind of... Kind of sad how much I clearly missed out on just because I first died so young... but... it's nice to know that the friendships I had would have lasted until the end, heh. Hmm... I wanna... I wanna find a life of mine in which Higeki didn't die so terribly early, I want to see that play out, I want to... be able to spend more time with her." Persephone is simply quiet about this, so Dione does as it was explained to her, simply trying to feel a life where that's the case. As she didn't fully get the hang out of that though, this isn't helping much, so instead she tries to feel any books here that have any events regarding Higeki play out differently in one way or another. Persephone wants to say something about it but decides to let Dione learn the lesson herself.

So in a life where Dione made choices that made her more curious in nature then, meeting Higeki ultimately plays out differently. While still being a child and looking at the view on Planet Hetrocera's ocean, Dione gets noticed by the equally young anthropomorphic brick seamoth named Higeki. "You don't like like an insect... What are you?" "I'm... a moth just like you. A seamoth.", the more aquatic child jokes with a soft-spoken voice before properly letting her know her name, a favor Dione returns before they talk about the ocean for a little bit, with them quickly agreeing on being friends, after which Higeki states about how quickly they get along: "Sometimes you just know when a friendship lasts for life." "Where do you live exactly, by the way? I wanna be able to visit you at your home too, see where you live, get to know your parents! I... only have my mother, sadly." "Curious where I live, hm?", Higeki understands, "Alright, I'll show you, but you gotta tell me what house you live in too then, hehe!" "It's a deal, hehehe!"
So on another day while Dione is visiting Higeki at Higeki's own home, this leads to Dione to also get to meet Higeki's parents. That then causes her to overhear from the parents during a visit about a genetic disease that affects some members of the family, with them worried about Higeki potentially turning out to have that gene be activated. Naturally, hearing about this makes Dione worried for her new friend too.
(Now playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv-iXh_p-ZY)
So Dione asks Coeus for help on the very next day, explaining the situation before stating: "You're... so smart! You could figure out something, right?" "My intelligence could save someone's life...", the young Coeus realizes from that, making him agree to it without hesitation. So he comes along with Dione during another visit to Higeki and her parents, where Coeus can get a DNA sample and study the incurable disease from that, all despite still being a young kid himself, showing just how ridiculously intelligent he is. Sure, Higeki's parents are at first sceptical if a literal child could find a cure, but they can fortunately tell pretty quickly that despite his age, Coeus is extremely capable on an intellectual level.
Because of how genetics work, Coeus can find the gene responsible for that lethal disease in whoever had any relatives with that disease too, it just wouldn't be activated in those who didn't die from it getting randomly activated. Coeus works hard on this in his home, no parents of his own with him there, all while the young moth boy knows just how much it would mean to his best friend Dione.

But... ultimately, Higeki ends up getting sick from it and dies after all, with Dione getting the news via telephone much like during the first life I've shown of her.
Coeus finds a cure a few days later. Too late for Higeki.

Back in the library, Dione remarks: "Too late?... Okay, it was just a few days too late, clearly there's a possibility of her surviving then. Can't give up on that... I'll just have to find a life in which my choice make me end up getting to know Higeki sooner, while also making it a life in which I get Coeus involved in that, that's easy!" So, not giving up this quickly, she opens the next closest book that fulfills those requirements.
