You have to really watch your back when your romantic rival is a witch. She won't play fair.

The Aladdin TV series is one of those that's as frustrating as it is nostalgic to look back on because the series is consistently *almost* great. Some episodes are poor quality, sure, but then you get some episodes that are really well-put together, have strong themes, and really good aesthetic and visual design for TV animation, but it never quite manages to have a truly perfect episode. There's always some little thing that holds it back, either bad dialogue, or it sacrifices characterization for the purpose of story, or some other really noticeable problem that takes me out of it.
Sadira, the sand witch (ha ha), has a complete arc in the series, for example. You don't see that in a lot of cartoons from this era. And yet, the foundation of that arc has a core flaw in that Aladdin never does anything that believably gets Sadira's interest. He gets her out of trouble once, sure, but Aladdin in the TV series is not written with the same charm and charisma as the movie - in fact, in some episodes he's a complete tool - but I don't feel like she's given good reason to pivot her whole life to obsessing over him.
That said, I will take any excuse for amphibian tf that I can get.

Saleen the sea witch also has the hots for Aladdin for no particular reason. They kinda had trouble coming up with non-romantic motivations for their female villains.
