Lasers and small caliber railgun fire lit the inky black, as they desperately fended off the torpedo swarm. My hangers were throwing out drone frigates as fast as they could under the high g-forces. My main battery threw slug after slug. My torpedo tubes kept my opponents point defense busy. I didn't even know my reactors could even maintain 120% power for this long, but then again, Trea was an amazing engineer.
Even within the armored confines of the bridge the faint echoes of dead missiles and other debris striking my hull could be heard. An increasing number of ignored holographic warnings lit my little arctic fox avatar in earie red. I might have been feeling pain right now, but once wartime emergency power kicked in, there was nothing but me, the enemies just ahead, and the massive ark ship we were bound by oath to protect.
I really wished I could say I was excited. This was the moment I had been waiting for after all. I exchanged a solemn glance with my captain, Scora. I really wished my glorious last stand would have been with one of the captains I hated.
My armor was made to fend off thermal attacks like nukes and lasers. Chances of me, let alone my crew, surviving a rail-gun slug-fest, were far lower than I would have liked. The heavy railguns I had insisted on keeping, were after all, reserved for the worst possible case scenario.
I wanted to make a proper scene with the blender model paint over trick. There's honestly a lot I would change, but I think it turned out pretty alright for my first go at this. Either way I just really needed to make something that wasn't an animal for a little bit.
Also not sure how canon this is. Though the original story idea that spawned this universe did involve a dramatic last stand, so I guess we shall see.

That was the railgun! Which means...
dramatic music sting
We're in CQB.

Why do I suspect that this might turn out to have been a very wise decision indeed? And this brilliantly done, nice to see and read about Aonia in action!
