Whether known by their draconic title of orn darastrix, shield dragon for the look of the top of their head, or simply the silver dragon, these wyrms equal in power to reds are perhaps the most well known and popular among the small-folk, and for good reason. With a love for the relatively spontaneous, ever-driven dynamism of the shorter lived humanoid races, they frequently live near and among them in such an assumed form. It takes time for such a transformative ability to manifest without exterior magics however, so the earlier years may often be spent with just their parents and the free skies of their territory.
A curious ability they DO possess at hatching though is to walk upon and interact with clouds as if they were solid. They can even, with time, permanently solidify clouds to the point that others could walk on it as if stone. I've heard well a few palaces in the sky where within begins the lair of a silver, still floating as always but sculpted and frozen like it were stuck in time. Perhaps their closeness with clouds is why the natural scent of a silver is that of rain. One such dragon could be just above a population, playing with cloudstuffs as one plays with snow and all would be none the wiser from the ground, while their parent in human guise stands among them.
This adorable picture was made by paldreamer. I knew they'd do such a precious piece justice. After going through the campaign Peril in Pinebrook I was APPALLED that the story about returning a silver wyrmling to their parent had not a SINGLE PICTURE of a silver wyrmling within it. I needed this for myself at the very least.

I don't appreciate Silvers enough. In a campaign I play in, I recently encountered a full-grown dragon, but my character is a rather cynical kobold who has an issue with dragons. Thus, he is not the kindest to the one he encounters.
While every dragon is their own individual even when including the common traits of their breed, it's both understandable and common that small-folk lump them all together. The kobold cannot truly be faulted, always a shame though.
