Small comic I made last year.
This is inspired after a scenario that I've had in real life with some friends at a local supermarket.
It happened exactly like the things happening in this comic.
It was a few weeks before Christmas.
At work, we planned to have a christmas breakfast all together so a few of us have been sent out to buy some food for it at a local supermarket.
Just for the fun of it, I put on my cosplay Mr. Wolf mask and a few of my friends just came with me.
So we had our list, we had the money and some bags to carry everything.
So then after we arrived and started to collect some stuff, one of my friends noticed how a street cleaner used his smartphone to make a photo of me because of my cosplay head.
I shrugged it off because I could see that coming and don´t mind that at all. I didn´t see how the guy did that because when she told me and I looked at him, he just went into another direction and was gone. After a while, we got most of our stuff but then one of the people who work at that shop approached us, trying to explain that she doesn´t see it as positive when I wear a mask while shopping. At first she just asked me to take it off. I explained that it's not so easy because it's quite complicated to put it on, but at the same time I asked her why it is an issue to wear it since we just go to buy food and nothing else.
She said that it would irritate other people and someone already said something to her about it.
I told her that we will be gone soon anyway because already got everything we need and just have to pay.
She also made negative remarks about how it is not normal to walk around like that.
In other words, when you are different or not like the average customer and not normal like "everyone", you are not welcome at that shop.
I mean, the woman could have said to that person "Well, some people are just different, what`s so bad about it?" and protect other customers from discrimination.
Because when people start to tell you that you are wrong the way you look or the way you are dressed, then this IS discriminatiion.
Early this year when we had a small carnival party, I gave it a try and wanted to give them a second chance since it was carnival and similar to Halloween, many people go out in costumes and nobody says a word. So I went there again with a couple of my friends to buy food for our carnival party and I had my mask on again.
Just when we wanted to go to the pay point, we were interrupted by a man who also works there and who was sorting some goods into the freezers.
He just said that my head looks quite nice, but when it comes to pay for things, it's not so good because nobody can see my face.
He also said that if someone like me would come to him to pay for stuff, he wouldn´t want to have me as a customer.
That made me seriously angry because I thought and wanted to say "Okay, if you don´t WANT me to pay for this shit, then you don´t give me a legal chance to obtain food at this fucked shop!" but I just said that I won´t buy here anything anymore when the people here are so closeminded and uptight that they refuse to take my money.
Someone of my friends did that payment job this time.
That was definitely the last time I was buying something there because they are so fucking uptight there. I even gave them a bad review on google because of this.

To me, I basically didn´t just go like this for the fun or to cheer other people up or anything. If I wanted to do that, I guess my cosplay would be a lot more colorful and like other furry character look more like a plush animal. I will post some photos soon where you can see my cosplay dress.
But it's also a thing when you live in an area where furry or cosplay stuff is not really a public thing, then people could react irritated.
I don´t really blame them when they look and wondering and are confused but when it comes to things like trying to shoo me away because some people are irritated, then I think it goes too far because I never harmed anybody, I didn´t even approach anybody and tried to get into any sort of contact with them so they have a reason to feel violated by some way.
