And so here is what the previous month of work or so has to offer.
The model isn't posed because I think since I have the model have a few separated parts the posing process is doing WEIRD things to it even after weight painting certain parts. They still deform.
Beyond that since the top and thong are a separate part, and they are thin, they clip like crazy and look terrible...
Now I am NOT discouraged, even with all the issues I can use this model as a pose reference. Even with all the jank that comes from the posing I can put her into various poses and see what this pose looks like at various angles.
All that said, for my first model I am quite happy with it. Just don't expect to see it posed let alone animated any time soon. But it is at least worth sharing. Huzzah...
I will say with the next model I will make it SHOULD go easier. I may in the interim make a more simple character model to test rigging and weight painting before trying Ophira again.

Woah, she looks great, especially so considering it's your first model, congrats! I'm curious what tools/tutorials you might've used to learn
Wowzers in my trowzers. Impressive work with the modelling and everything there, Jeri. I hope to see more of this soon.
Ayyyy you did amazingly well for your first model!
Thank you.
She just needs a lot of work or be redone to make it viable to be rigged and posed.

Understandable, love to see what people will do with Ophira in the near future!
Yeah, at least I know how to do this stuff, and the modeling stage is pretty fun, so there's that.
Definitely make a copy of the file if you feel like you're about to do something that can mess things up somehow
Oh no worries I was making backups as I was making it on Dropbox.
So I can take a duplicate and fiddle with it.

Probably not. I really don't want people possibly doing stuff I don't like with Ophira.
Thank you. I can see the mistakes I have made and will be able to make better in the future.
And heck, if I can never get good rigging, at least I can make models that look good~

holy shit
my first blender thing was fucking cups, this is miles beyond even my peak blender skills back in high school. Good Job 9-puzzle, That's a very Uber Umbrex.

Well I was trying to make the donut in the donut tutorial, but I wasn't enjoying myself. So after making it to part 4 of 16 I stopped watching and started fiddling around with Blender on my own.
That's likely why it was so slow going, but can't argue with results.

For a first model, this looks amazing! The transition from 2D to 3D seems to have been, um, seamless lol
Great work, and don't worry about taking your time with the rigging process on this model, cuz every other model afterwards would be simpler to work on! (usually 😅)
