Shells and Factions of the Love-Bots: Scrapplers
"Man, oh man, they got me writing data logs and stuff now... Well, I guess I can start this report off by calling these Love-Bot models a bunch of freaks. The "Scrapplers" are feral Love-Bots that lost most of their sense of reason and are scavengers of mechanical bits and biological data. I remember they sorta just lurked in that molten refinery in the underbelly of the Matriarch's base. The scary thing is that's not the only place I found them in the universe as they'd just sort of pop up when I least expected it. I didn't even know they *WERE* Love-Bots until I had it pointed out to me during my battle against that big ugly bug lady. I just kinda saw them as... Weird fellas who kept attaching robot parts to themselves and enjoyed snacking on the nearest Angel-Tech conscript who lost their way. They can't even really be reasoned with and they're a bunch of jerks too!
I mean, like come on fam, I saw them stealing robot bits off each other... Until well, they saw I had a superior model and wanted to rip me to shreds and probably make some weird mask out of me. These beasts fight like wild animals, take down enough of their pack and they'll turn tail. They enjoy hit and runs and small skirmishes and are pretty smart for being just a bunch of wild beasts. They like to hang out in what I define as "Monster Closets" just to quickly jump ya! Not to mention some have "small range teleportation technology" that allows them to warp into your location and close the gap. Their melee is super deadly, and all their weapons are kind of make-shift. Kinda glad I am a Love-Bot now or those deadly stinger darts their rangers shoot would've eaten me alive from the inside! Ikcy corrosive gunk to rot your insides ain't fun at all!
Like, I don't blame them for making makeshift weapons though, like, bro, have you even seen what Angel-Tech equips their soldiers with!? Those laser weapons can barely lay a scratch on most things they go up against. The Scrapplers hate everyone, and it seems everyone hates the Scrapplers, even other Love-Bots! You can easily tell a Scrappler apart from your classic Love-Bot shell, mostly as those Scrappler shells are like... Hyper personalized. We got centipedes, flying units, long scrungly fellows, all sorts of stuff. I mean yeah, they're dangerous, but I assure you, they don't care what goodies you have on, they'll try and takem!" ~Hunter Star Spine

It's been a very long time since I even remotely wrote a data-log, buuuuut... I think one from Hunter's own perspective could be a lot of fun! Also not to mention give more hints into Hunter's past as it's written in the "present" and help build upon the Love-Bots and what Hunter went through. Kind of showing the galaxy as a whole that's not just purely in the Realm of Materia as these fellows can be found in small pockets around the universe. Especially after the War of Love which still did plunge the Outer Stars into a dark age...
Thanks for reading everyone! Have a good day!

I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.

These are super cool of a concept here! I really love how you were able to give the Scrapplers an unusual, unfinished shape/silhouette, really oosing into the horrors of the concept! You really know how to develop this amazing amount of lore and I'm excited to seeing more and more in the future! Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you! I also kind of wanted to give them slight parallels to Hunter as well, especially in color/design since they share the same red ooze and Hunter works on obtaining body parts from fallen foes. The best thing is she's actually pretty similar, she just doesn't know it yet
