I understand that they come from a kind hearted place, but disability and mental illness can't be magically fixed sometimes.
I have severe insomnia / Chronic C-PTSD nightmares and my hyperphantasia means that my dreams aren't restful, i'm mentally running marathons in my sleep. Living full lives of strangers in my head.
its that time of the year where I swap from SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) oversleeping to 'normal' severe Depression; upping my sleep meds to triple/quadruple what I need for winter times so I just need some time to get settled in my new normal again.
Also just got prescribed Iron pills N added Vit D n B gummies to the medication list about a week ago
also the allergies are BRUTAL this year????
like damn I hate using my Cpap [i think i'm ...4? months into it] but its physically impossible to sleep without it at this point because I just start choking on phlegm like ughhh
I also think i've murdered this wacom tablet in record times because its been eating my inputs something fierce???
I think i'm done with Wacom as a brand entirely the quality dip isn't worth 300$ anymore lmao

Have you been remembering to eat well and drink water too? I know that being low in Iron for example can lead to being consistently tired and being cold.
god i wish i was cold, i'm always boiling alive, just sweating buckets D'X>
but yeah i was prescribed Iron pills for a severe deficiency [thanks to a womens health doctor worsening a health condition :') ]
they make me bloat like a balloon though and my dietitian said 'probiotics' which... isn't enough to help with feeling like a horrible balloon for 3 days each time i take the pill DX>
n yeah I drink almost exclusively water, I had to start adding in powerade zero / vitaminwaters because despite drinking ~10 glasses of water a day [I'm -always thirsty- and -always- craving salt in tandem] I was still dehydrated lmao
Foods been a struggle that we've been trying to figure out but I do at least have 1 good meal and a couple granola/trailmix bars at minimum a day.

Do y'all have drawing tablet suggestions for [NO-SCREEN] Tablets?
I've used a Wacom Intous Pro medium for the past ~8 years [Rebuying them regularly because I am the master of murdering them...]
I think i was looking at Huion or XPpen???
I need a very light pen weight for my weak baby arms, has to be able to sit on my lap

I have a XP-PEN 13.3 pro and it's 6 years old now methinks! It's been so amazing esp as a disabled artist. They're super lightweight and I highly recommend them over huion and Wacom heheh
oh that's good to know, i'm always lookin for other artists info on other tablets since i've been too scared to branch out for 99% of my digital art lifetime [i got a 'cheap' one around ~2012 and it burnt me on 'anything other than wacom' in my brain]
But this ones putting random dots on my canvas all over the place at random [with touch off] and eating my inputs like every 3rd stroke DX<
I murdered the cord ~3 months ago so this new cord isn't the issue for sure
I've been using the same wacom pen for like ~7 years because i hate the new pens they swapped to, they are both thin and the nibs die near instantly with my heavy handed pressure lmao
thankfully i've bought so many tablets in my life that i think i could still use this pen for ~3 years without more nibs LMAO

That's such a total mood, I got this tablet because my scoliosis is so bad I can only draw laying down. The only downside to these tablets is the screen protectors need to be changed every 6 or so months depending on use haha.
But other then that I've had almost zero issues with it! It's my 2nd screen tablet and my first one was huion, before that it was the non screen ones and they were all Wacom and went to shit after a bit mostly due to the cords.

I use an M708 V3 from UGEE! It's pretty nice, there's no rechargable pens or anything and have been using it for the past few years! its got a good amount of buttons too if you use those (i frequently forget about them and don't use them lol)
no screen tablets my beloved... also the pen nib has been holding up pretty well for me and I'm by no means a gentle artist so it's been great!

I have used an XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro for 4 years already and it's pretty good. Only thing is that the screen is scratched from the use but there are replacements on their official store and all.
Also it comes with a bunch of replacement nibs already so you don't have to buy those anytime soon.
But yeah i hope you can feel better soon!

I work at a digital art school; we used to stick to Wacom and we were even sponsored by them for a while, but the quality dip over the years is real. I super vouch Huion instead; they're much more affordable, their gear easy to set up, and I've tried both their screen Cintiq and their non-screen tablets. My Cintiq ended up being turned into my second-monitor as I learned the hard way the realities of screens-and-posture, but my non-screen tablet is now my go-to. Lightweight, easy to change keybindings on a very visual menu, and the associated pen doesn't rely on batteries or need charging.
My one regret with my current tablet is that I actually went a size a little too large for my liking! I thought I would need something wide to do the Fine-Arts "Big arm movements" but I find myself annoyed by how 'slow' my cursor is on my monitor because my hands don't move as fast as my mouse with tiny movements.
Actually this made me finally look up if I can "shrink" the workspace area on my tablet; I can! Hot damn! So yeah my one complaint is now void LOL

God yeah i'm really glad my scam college forced us to use screen tablets so I learnt that they aren't the magical cure all to making a artist 'better' at their craft. I hated them XD; I had to pull them off the stand and slap this 15+ pound giant monitor into my lap until it got so hot that i couldn't anymore. Also having my hand covering part of the image is arguably my biggest gripe. I wanna see the whole thing without any lack of visibility xD;
Not to mention the texture of glass screens! The day I realized I could tape paper onto my plastic tablet to get the right pen-grip texture, it was revolutionary.
Wish i could give you a nice cup of milk, you look like you need it. =(
make it soy milk and we're talkin haha, this cat is lactose intolerant despite choccy milk being sent from the heavens
Hope things start working out for you soon! Sleeping disorders suck! 😣
Oooof I can absolutely relate to the machine and sleep difficulties, though not quite to your extent. All I know is I sleep as much as I can and I still feel incredibly tired qwq
God, I hate how much of that sounds familiar. Trouble falling asleep AND staying awake? Check. Allergies? Check. A brain that, for some reason, prioritizes traumatic memories? Check.
I know you said "no tips", but... Please be careful with the sleep meds. Insomnia sucks, but it beats the hell out of never waking up.

Oh fret not i'm not overdosing or anything, in winter i basically had to stop all my sleep meds because i was sleeping 12+ hours without them but during spring thru fall i usually take 100mg Quetiapine (for falling asleep) and 100mg Trazodone (for staying asleep) n i'm just doing the slow rise of the meds in a safe and careful way!
also googling it i realize that neither of those meds are specifically for sleeping but dang do they work for it, they don't help the depression much though weirdly enough lmao

Eugh. Hyperphantasia, my love and my nemesis. Great for daydreaming, super bad about making you relive your past mistakes in 4k hdr with added deleted scenes just when you got comfy for a little sleeb.
Hope you recover quickly. Med adjustment periods are a bitch.

god its such a struggle LMAO
like i can have crazy cool off the walls adventures [i'm furry in almost all of my dreams but extremely rarely am I actually ever my own characters]
but it also means the nightmares are just SO BAD, bad to the point i have that phobia of pits specifically because I had a nightmare and even though its been 8 years since I had it I still feel it by just mentioning it.

I am either Furry or Anime, or sometimes Both, haha.
And GOD. My nightmares are rare, but they have a PROFOUND effect on me. The last SUPER bad one I had I left the place I was living at, drove a good 6 - 10 miles to a friends place and just sat in their empty living room actively having a panic attack for several hours until they got up and just *found* me in their house.
And the worst part is, I never remember them. I only know they were bad because of how horrific I feel when I suddenly wake up x:
But the number of times I have 'tripped' in a dream and then twitched so hard from the 'impact' that I wake up is beyond counting

Uff da, do I know the feeling... Hopefully it passes soon enough, just take your time, you've got plenty support here~
Also saw you mention soy milk up above, have you tried oat milk perchance? I'm not huge on it but my lactose intolerant partner swears by it and so does my father o3o I prefer almond milk and both come in choccy versions! Plus, there's less chance of them making your depression worse like studies for soy have shown. That's why we don't drink soy :c (If you're able to find it, I believe goat's milk is also less lactose than cow's milk so some tummies can handle it~)

i feel ya hun, i have sleep apnea as well and have to use a cpap and when i wake up i still feel like i did not sleep a wink, even with sleep meds, it sucks, so i totally feel you......i know it sucks, and i can only hope that you feel better eventually, even if it is temporary (what i mean is even if you can get one day where you wake up feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed)
Have your doctors also been baffled that the CPAP wasn't a cure all to your energy situation?? Cuz they always give me a dumbfounded look when i say i'm still tired all the time.
That said they can't have it back anymore because its made my asthma so SO much easier to handle, I haven't needed my inhaler in months when i was chugging 4-6 puffs a day before that

they do the same thing to me lol, but my insurance wont cover a BPAP or anything higher without another sleep study
Dude no kidding about the allergies. They're driving me nuts. I hope you get some good sleep at some point.
oh god its not just me at least there's that, I don't know what's up but boy its horrible, i'm glad I wear a mask anytime i leave the house because its made my allergy struggles a little easier at least
I know in my area it's the honey suckles and the wild mustard that get me. my dang truck was covered with yellow dust (pollen) X-X maybe I should try wearing a mask outside to help mitigate the pollen.
I been using huion tablets for a while now. Have a graphic screen one and then a large normal one. (Screen one makes me shrimp so need ability to set back. So it's why i got the second one)
I been enjoying them alot. Only thing I will warn about is if you get a graphic screen tablet? They don't use true color. So will need to color check works on a side screen that is true color. About it. Works fantastic and no issues besides dumb stuff I've done to them.

If you go to Sam's Club you can buy a box of 600 spoons. Then you'll never lack them again.
God I remember having insomnia so bad I went almost 3 weeks barely sleeping. I got hospitalized after :3:
It's hell and I really hope you get better~!!
