Τοξίνη ''Toxíni'' by LtDWW
I was reading some magazine covering creepy myths and mythological monsters, and this inspired me to come up with this (not so) creepy cutie. Balancing cute with scary isn't as easy as some might think, but I believe I struck a decent balance with this one.
The name Τοξίνη translates to ''Toxíni'', which simply means ''toxin''. And yes, this is Greek. I often take very obvious influence from Greek culture nowadays when I draw stuff -- from simply names, to entire concepts, like the one you see right here! -- and this is because I've traveled to Greece twice now. It's truly a beautiful country! Toxíni's design bares heavy resemblance to the famous monster the snake-headed woman, Medusa. I've tackled this concept before, back when I did a Regional Variant design of the Pokémon Tangela. But that doesn't mean I can't use this concept again by introducing another probably one-off character to my list of established characters, like Anu, Meira and others. Also, by giving this character three heads, I could represent three different facial expressions of one character at the same time without having to draw the character three times over, which, you can take it from me, would be a very exhausting process.
