There's quite a few pictures in SHORT ON PLOT that picture these ramshackle midwestern urban centers, or forgotten one-stop-sign towns, or even detritus and run-down shacks, in the Mike Kazaleh portfolio. They are all awesome.
The juxtaposition of "happy" cartoonish imagery with the expressions of grim hopelessness or wide-eyed anxiety makes it all the more intense.
