I just finished this today, a clock made entirely of computer parts, i got instructions on how wo make inline, but it came out pretty cool, what do you guys/gals think???

all the internal part from a laptop i had that died 2 years ago after it got dropped, so i used the motherboard, a cd-rom, wiring harness's, some capcitors, the cd rom drive and othe parts
and it works... did you use the gears from the HDD to move the clock hands and did you use the CMOS battery to power on the clock and maybe using the motherboard as a middle connector for them all to receive power?
i used a clock mechanism for the clock gears, thats the only thing i had to but for it besides a pack of AA batterys
oh, i was thinking of ways to make it out of pure computer parts... like taking apart the HDD and using those gears to rotate the clock hands and the CMOS settings battery to power through the motherboard to turn the gears, the only challenging part to doing it my way though, is making the gears turn at the correct speeds... HDD gears are suppose to spin fast under any power circumstances, obviously, they are HDD gears... maybe shorting out the connection could make it move a little slower... but id leave it going fast just to watch the clock hand spin like a fan :P
yeah, i used mostly computer parts cause if i used the fan motor or something, that clock would say 1 and then 3 seconds later it would say 5:45. thats why
yea, i love taking broken computer or electronic parts and trying to make something else out of them, back in 6th grade me and my cousin set out to recreate a solar powered handheld fan out of broken CD player parts and straws... we had to keep it hidden at school... and of course it disappeared eventually so we never got to finish the last couple parts of it :P
were you just that bored? O*O if not its all good either way thats badass! where online did you find those instructions?
no, i wanted to make it, and i looked up how to do it via google
okies thank you ^*^ i may have my roommate make one, i dont think im smart enough to make one ehehe ^*^'
Is it one of those harddisk platter clocks? awesome! picture is kind of blurry though
