The summer is over, and I haven't been at sea for three years in a row. I really miss this fresh air, salt water, the noice of endless waves... And thanks to dragonkin from the ocean coast in sunny Florida I could experience it a little through the magic of art.
Meet Tylos
jojer, the Oceanside Drake a.k.a. Lesser Storm Dragon. They're protector of the ocean who defend their great habitat from the pollution and save rare aquatic species from extinction. Maybe I exaggerate a little, because they're actually kind and peaceful dragon who like bird watching, swimming and STORMS, but I saw them like this, so I quickly came up with an idea for a drawing.
Tylos has an unique design that have features of crocodiles, sea birds and dolphins: it was fun and challenging to redraw it with my style. But dragon is a dragon and I wanted to show dragonic look of them. Tylos holds the the shell with pearl that resembles the Pearl of Wisdom eastern dragons have. I also wanted Tylos to interact with the water they protect and spread wings to show... who's the big boss here!π Yay! I changed the sunset from early draft to dawn to add some freshness to the image. To feel that moments of the morning at the sea I miss so much. Thank you, Tylos, for this commission. I feel relieved now.
