For what it's worth, btw, your sketch of Leccathu was part of my inspiration to start writing poems about artists/artworks... I just was kinda frustrated at not being able to draw and take part in these little trades and things, thinking, "Why can't I write a poem about someone the way an artist can just draw someone?" And then a poem started forming in my head...

The mix of emotions: shock, fascination, disappointment in such quick succession was really something. It's amazing how fluid that sort of thing can be.

Haha! I've had that happen before, don't worry! Several times, actually - I just take a long time to learn something new, hehe. XD I love this - thank you for bringing up this 'unique' aspect! : D

Did your experiences specifically involve Chinese astrology, by any chance?

Ah well... maybe sometime there actually will be a random group of middle-aged adults in a chinese restaurant talking openly about being otherkin... that'd be cool.

*chuckles* Yes, it has involved Chinese astrology exclusively - it still kind of excites me to hear others talk about their 'animal forms' (i.e 'I'm a Rooster', 'I'm a Horse', etc.), even though it's only in terms of the Chinese zodiac. Wishful thinking, I suppose, haha. XD

That would be awesome to overhear a group of people like that talking about being otherkin, though I think I wouldn't want to join in and reveal myself - a shyness factor, I suppose. ;p

If I was absolutely sure they were talking about being otherkin, I think I would say something. Closest I've ever cone outside of a furry convention, I think I told you about before, was someone telling me that dragon was their totem. I still regret not revealing more then.

I did used to have a coworker who collected a lot of Chinese phoenix stuff cause she was a year of the dragon person. Don't think I ever revealed to her, though we were/are pretty close.

I do currently have my Two Stars For Orion commission up as my background at work, but I don't think anyone would ever guess it was me. I've also put up Frai's badge before, figuring I could always say it was a character if anyone asked... I've put up her character portraits of others before, though.
