This concept came from how  TheAnnonymousKat and I have talked about and even dabbled in the idea of AUs involving Ben, Kat, and pretty much anyone else. Including the one of Roleswap. In a nutshell, where conventional roles and morality of characters have been swapped.

I'm sure people have been following on both mine and  TheAnnonymousKat's pages to know who Ben and Kat are, but a quick recap. Ben is a human from another world where after being brought into where he lives now, he became a Sullicoot and Keyblade wielder capable of wielding magic as well. Kat is a human/cat hybrid known as the Thief of Darkness. A special kind of thief who can use abilities of darkness to move around undetected while stealing, or even being able to fend of enemies in combat.

For the Roleswap AU however, the two of them have switched roles. Instead, this version of the Sullicoot is an honourable thief inspired by iconic gentlemen thieves, like Sly Cooper for example. And instead of a Keyblade, he wields a special cane that is made of sturdy materials, and contains a hidden blade within. Which he uses not just for his heists, but also in self defence. Plus he is decked out in dark clothes to help blend in with the dark and night.

And this version of Kat is instead a Keyblade Wielder of Darkness. Wielding his Thundercats inspired Keyblade, Thundering Omen and carrying a Magic Card behind one of his ears. This card was given to him by a mysterious man with pink hair, who wielded a large scythe. The Magic Card is able to activate Kat's special attack, which stands out in regards to the other special attacks since they don't need cards to activate them at all. And unlike the main counterpart, this Kat is half lion instead of half cat. Sort of like beta Sora with the chainsaw sword.

Of course, this also extends to who both Ben and Kat became very close to in the AU as well. While regular Ben and Kat are close to Sulley and Panthro respectively, the Roleswap versions of the former two found themselves bonding with Johnny Worthington III and Grune respectively.

This version of Johnny Worthington III ultimately turned out like Sulley in the main universe... Though his version of Sulley spread malicious rumours about the monster in Monsters University, which unfortunately got the former expelled. He still ultimately managed to climb his way through Monsters Inc throughout the years, ultimately becoming its CEO after discovering laugh power was more powerful then screams. One day, he met his version of Ben and ultimately bonded with the Worthicoot (The species Ben became instead of Sullicoot) while discovering he only used his thieving skills for good. The two of them grew so close, they playfully referred to each other as brothers. (Though believe it or not, they did become brothers) Johnny even discovered his knack for combat too. But that's a story for another day.

This version of Grune ultimately turned out like Panthro in the main universe... Unlike the events where prime Grune betrayed King Claudus for his own selfish goals, with Panthro remaining loyal to his king... It was the other way around! Ultimately after some time, the sabertooth catman befriended his version of Kat and was even intrigued by his skills with the Keyblade. The symbol of their closeness being represented by the Keyblade itself that Kat wields. There is also a rumour that Grune has abilities and powers that no one else has seen yet. But potentially, they may be revealed someday.

This is something fun to see, especially since it makes people think what if roles are switched and such. So I definitely encourage everyone to use their imagination, and implement it in whatever form possible! And who knows? This MIGHT not be the last time you see this AU.
