I suspect a lot of cartoon characters in general were gay. Think of dear old Bugs, how often did he spend getting into dresses and flirting aggressively with his aggressors?

The idea of Snagglepuss being gay has been around for awhile, though do note that some of the shorts featured him and his girlfriend, a mountain lion named Lila.
There was one moment though, in one Snagglepuss short (forget which one) where a couple burglars break into his cave. Snaggle has retreated into his closet and we hear one robber say:
"Duh, somebody is in the closet."
Snagglepuss: "Yeah...somebody's in the closet...ME!"
