Lamp - Enchanted tungsten wire
Tungsten is a common chemical element found as a component of certain stones such as wolframite and scheelite. Refined in its pure form, it is a shiny grey metal. Its ability to store energy is used by humans for many applications, including light bulb filaments. The same ability to resist, thanks to its high melting point, and to store magic means that it can be used to insert a spell that some might consider a trap. It blends perfectly with the magical essence, or concept if you like, of a lamp.
Once a subject grasps the filament at both ends, the incantation is triggered, transforming the subject into a lamp. Their hands, or limbs, grasping both ends of the filament, form the bulb. The tungsten wire emits light, heat and magic until the shape is complete. The lamp, inert and permanent, is whole and functional.
Simply remove the bulb and break it to retrieve the wire for reuse in another subject.
