The day's long-lasting cold front had long since moved through, blowing much of the cloud formations away, leaving behind a beautiful, clear night sky. The lights of the distant cities couldn't reach out this far into the wilderness. The world above the rocky desert landscape shined with iridescent sapphire and violet gems, twinkling in vast nebulae, millions of light years away.
Lost in thought, a land-bound creature simply tilted their head back and dreamt of a world far beyond this one, wondering if there was life on another world, just like his own.
The moon touched upon the horizon and the constellations began to reveal their truest, most vibrant forms. The soothing nightly breeze blew into the raptor's mane and danced down along his spine, the beast looked out and up, into the heavens above-- there was a streak of light, a shooting star.
The raptor closes his eyes, breathes in nice and slow, resting his head against the ground, purring with every breath-- now asleep, with the most awe-inspiring images locked away, deep within the palace of his dreaming mind.
The winds would give no indication-- no warning-- as under the veil of darkness, another creature had caught the vivid scent of the now-sleeping raptor, the fate of the smaller creature that wandered underneath the starry night sky had already been sealed-- for it was a dragon that had spotted him just now.
The graceful and feather-light steps the dragon took hardly even shook the ground, her wings remained folded-- not a living being in the twilight stirred as a result of the rogue's agile movements.
The skies above functioned as a sort of night light, radiating a near-intangible sense of warmth and comfort to the raptor, like a serpent sunbathing in the glowing light of the day-- moments later, the effects of such a night light vanished and a distinct aroma seeps into the nostrils of the raptor. The dragoness stood there, towering confidently above the raptor, blotting out the stars above with her figure and outstretched wings, facing him, whilst being upwind no less-- wanting the raptor to awaken, to be cognizant of his fate.
In the raptor's waking moments, a mixture of fear, curiosity, and despair intertwine with awe and adoration-- as the colors of the sky behind the looming figure and that of the dragoness herself, were almost the same. The dragoness stared down at the raptor below-- their prey laid helplessly before them, and yet was puzzled, why her prey didn't think to run. The raptor's heart pounded thunderously and yet, he stayed completely still; the scent of fear that had been coming from him had completely dissipated. The enormous draconic creature got down onto all fours to stare down the raptor-- snouts inches away from one another, to look deep into his eyes-- at the moment, she knew he wouldn't run; it was the very same gaze one would have while looking at the night sky-- with eyes full of wonder.
An entranced meal, she thought, smiling smugly from ear to ear, then suddenly-- the raptor nudges against the snout of the dragoness with his own and lets out a soft chirp, leaving the dragoness utterly speechless for a moment, maybe even two. Perhaps it was instinct or a sense of greed buried deep within the dragoness, but her immediate response was to yawn her maw especially widely, tongue curling underneath the raptor's slender frame and sweeping them up off of the ground. A few moments later, those jaws would simply engulf every part of the raptor barring that long, furred tail. The feral desire to swallow right away was overwhelmingly strong, resisting such an urge to savor this capture-- the berry-like sweetness of a raptor like this was rare, almost impossible to find-- and it was all hers, sealed away in the confines of that saliva-coated maw. And in that exact frame of thought, she elicited a low, rumbling, greedy growl, and swallowed-- hard. The raptor's tail being slurped up and pulled through the lips of the dragoness, as the throat bulge sinks, deeper and deeper-- subtle squirms from the raptor within hardly provided much resistance to the overall downward movement; the writhing bulge sank behind the chest as the throat returned to its normal shape. A rising feeling of satiety mixed with that greed, until that maw had absolutely none of the raptor left, not even a strand of fur nor feather.
Not even a singular thread of evidence of the raptor's existence was left for the world, as nothing was spared.
That stomach swelled with a pleasant heftiness to it, sloshing about with a pendulous sag. The dragoness laid down onto her side now, rather comfortably as she relished her meal, resting in the very same position the raptor was in not too long ago. The rich flavor and scent of the prey remained ever present on her breath and tongue, enjoying the subtle shifting and slosh-inducing adjustments taken by the raptor, her meal becoming intimately familiar with those active insides-- before beginning to succumb to them. Thick slimy fluids, enzymes mixed with saliva and drool, pleasantly tingled against the raptor's furred hide, like an encompassing massage that soothed the raptor from start to finish, a pleasant numbness and coziness unparalleled by anything else-- he reclined into the plush, squelchy stomach lining and enjoyed his time inside while he could, seeing the night sky as he closed his eyes, sinking deeper into the accommodating, greedy stomach lining, the sounds of digestion growing louder; feeling these fleshy innards work diligently, making him softer, more malleable, and a part of his predator.~
The illumination of the stars above outshone even that of the moon and as the light reflected off of the clear sands and the waters of the oasis, the dragoness stood up after a long, satisfying nap, the stomach far less saggy than when she had first begun her slumber, the distinct sounds of digestion echoing into the night as the raptor was truly a part of the dragoness now, adding to the gut, tail, and haunches-- hoarded by one particular star underneath the vastness of the night sky.~
"All mine," she said as she looked back to the additions of the curious stargazer, and it's said that the raptor was reportedly never seen wandering those desert plains ever again.
