2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560 Spyder priced at over $262k+. >>
We got to drive this to the Lamborghini meet up at RTC this morning (we went along with another Gallardo LP-560 and a brand new Aventador). This car really jerks you back in the seat when it gets going.. haha. xD Should drive it over to RF, lolol. ;x Though I don't think I'm gonna go to RF, even though it's only 20-30 minutes away from where I live.
Got a few videos of the ride (with me acting stupid in it, too!), will probably post it over on my Facebook. Not gonna post any more photos like this here most likely, but yeah.. today was awesome, so I wanted to post this. ;x
(And yes, I actually have some real art I'll be posting soon!)

I actually wouldn't own a convertible (and don't get me wrong, I love this car). xD So no, sadly. I actually got invited by a Lamborghini dealership to go with them to the meet in one of their cars, which was pretty awesome. They want to sell me this one, but I'm more interested in the black one (you can see it to the right in the picture.. same car, just a bit faster, cheaper and it's not a convertible xD). I am considering the black one, but I can't do anything for a few months or maybe the start of the next year.. but yeah. :) So at the moment, no.. not yet, haha. xD
(Sorry, I've been working 10-12 hour days.. been really tired and I blabber a lot when I'm tired).

It's a whole different world, lol. They teach you how to drive it.. and you start out slow with it. It's not a car you can just hop in and floor it (I've seen too many people do that with Corvette's and wreck 'em).. but once you learn it, the car treats you very, very well. :) lol.
lol, I love reading that you still have a few 'months' before you can afford it... I'd be like, a few decades before I could afford it... I only make something like $25k a year. Soooo If I didn't spend a single penny it would be 10.5 years to be able to afford one. :P If I put away half of each paycheque, then it'll be 21 years.
That's awesome though, would be amazing to be able to drive one of those things, though you'd probably not want to give it up at the end of the drive... XD heh

Eh, it's a long story.. To tell you the truth, I'm not 100 percent positive.. and overall, a fancy car isn't the first on my list of what I need to do. xD I have a lot of land that I'm trying to sell a portion of.. won't go into more details, but yeah. I was doing it because I want to get a home here in WA state basically, plus I want to go to college.. x-x But yeah.. I'm not sure on anything yet. The only thing is that, if I really did buy it.. considering the cost of gas, insurance and so on so forth, I'm not sure if I will. Though it'd be fun to just get for 6 months, haha. xD So yeah, obviously, it's not the top on my list.. but who knows. xD I really want to live in a house again at the moment as this is the first time I've lived in an apartment for probably 8-10+ years.. x-X So yeah..
And yes, I'll admit.. after the drive, it was a little depressing to get in another car.. >> Haha.. I almost wish I had never gotten in it, lmao. xD

You know you've watched too much Top Gear when you know the reason the non-convertible is faster and better than the convertible...
The added weight to stiffen the car and make up for the lack of a hard roof reduces the top speed by a fraction.
I'd never own one...but I sure as hell would like to try driving one. X3

I don't think I've ever watched a Top Gear episode with a Lamborghini in it, I've only watched a few episodes. ;P I hope you aren't seriously assuming I just watched some TV show, haha.
For one.. they do both have the same horsepower/torque, but they weigh relatively close to each other (I think the reason being is, although the Spyder has no hardtop, the motor for the convertible top still weighs a bit.. though yeah). They surprisingly do not weigh -that- much different from each other from what the people from Lamborghini were telling me (as well as checking online from various sources).
Two, the LP-560-4 Spyder (the one in the picture) does 0-60 in about 4 seconds flat, and 0-120 in about 13.1 seconds. The LP 560 non-convertible does 0-60 in about 3.7 seconds, and 0-120 in 11.8 seconds. They do pretty much have the same top speed, however. You can find this information anywhere online (Wikipedia, Car and Driver, etc). The brochure I got from them says the same as well, and if I can get my scanner working I can scan and link it. Plus, even the sales people told me that the LP 560-4 is just a little faster than the LP 560-4 Spyder, even though they really are trying to get me interested in the Spyder (which costs a lot more than the LP-560 4, surprisingly.. o.O).
Lastly, we all had a little race on the highway on the way over, haha. So I think that's good proof as well (and most Lamborghinis nowadays use E-gear, so having a shitty driver who doesn't know when to shift won't make as much as a difference as it would in a manual). ;P The LP 560-4 started pulling away from us, but it wasn't by -that- much. I wasn't trying to say that it's like, a whole lot faster, but there is just a slight difference. We stopped at about 125-ish mph, or at least that's what I saw when I looked over. *Shrug*. Our bumper was just barely behind the LP-560 4's bumper.. and of course, the Aventador whooped both. ;P I may have the video on my phone, not sure though.. I'll probably just throw the videos I took up on my FB and sort them out later.
But yeah, not much faster overall.. but it does have a little bit over the Spyder. ;P I just thought it was funny considering how much "cheaper" the LP 560-4 was compared to the LP 560-4 Spyder.. but they said they tend to sell the Spyders/convertibles the most, so eh.. I guess people like 'em. I've just never had much of a taste for many convertibles.

TL;DR: I hope you assumed I was talking about the original Top Gear, and not the US knockoff. The BBC one has supercars on almost every episode...unless the three guys are off doing something stupid with old cars.
I'm no car expert, I just like the show. and when they tested these two cars, the hard-top ended up being a fraction of a second faster. No big deal.
Mind you, they tested them separately, not by racing each other. Using the same professional driver.

There's a US knockoff? lol..
Well, maybe they were 2010s. ;P I trust Lamborghini's word over your word, no offense. Especially considering you won't even look up the actual statistics, and you're going off what you saw on a TV show (loool). Not to mention, I got to see it in person, so.. yeah. :)
Either way, there's really no need for attitude, please.
