Our annual Halloween art print, featuring Vi shooting the breeze after a day of classes. We felt like taking a different approach from last year, and focusing a bit more on the seasonal aspect, something a little more atmospheric and laid back.
…Observant viewers will note the first bit of Fallguard paraphernalia we’ve yet drawn - the big square red gloves used for blocking and striking at opponents. Gripping other players isn’t allowed in the game, so no thumbs are present in the gloves.

The stormy sky, Vi's expression, her jacket, her Fallguard gloves, the matching logo on her jacket and gloves, that one little bug on that one pumpkin in the foreground just to add that extra little smattering of delicious detail...

You know what strikes me the most about this piece? It could be the wonderful backdrop, it could be the amount of detail you put into the pumpkins, it could be the effect of the leaves blowing in the wind, and it could be the relaxed and peaceful pose that Vi had as she sits in the middle of it all. It could very easily be any one of these things.
But honestly, it's Vi's expression. The eyes, the soft smile, the stare off into the horizon...they express something powerful. That moment in time where you can forget about everything that happened in the day, good or bad, and just be a part of the surroundings around you, to belong to something that is greater than yourself, but that accepts you unquestioningly as part of yourself.
This is why when you opened commissions, I was so overjoyed. The way you capture moments in time is amazing, and truly stunning. Please, by all means, never lose that creativity.
