Water forms a perishable armor.
Its flow is rhythmic, almost unrealistic, hard to capture.
An experimental painting about water that subtly shapes a knightly armour.
I will take this along to Mephit Mini Con. :)
Inks and acrylics on canvas-wood-plate.
Thanks a lot for looking! <3

Water can't stop the blade of a sword striking edge-on, but it instantly deflects the blade that strikes it at an angle.
Using armour like this would require a unique, mobile, constantly flowing, beautifully elegant style, with elements that resembled T'ai Chi or perhaps Aikido -- accepting each attack and guiding it harmlessly aside barely an inch from the defender's body. It would take enormous skill but, in the paws of a master, it'd be both phenomenal and beautiful.
Not much good against arrows though.

Or in English: "Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend" - Bruce Lee
Now for the Drow equivalent, I had to use alternate wording for some things as some of the words didn't translate over well, but the gist of it is still there. I think that famous quote from the legendary Bruce Lee fits this picture perfectly, don't you?

I know you don't typically reply to comments or anything, but I hope you read them, all the same. Your work as inspired me for years. This piece in particular is one that I can connect with. It reminds me of cleansing old feelings and searching for the truth. Starting over new and clean. I could stare at this picture for hours.
Whoever ends up owning this piece is going to be incredibly lucky. *Smiles*
