A little action scene With her brother around, it seemed unlikely to Jodi that she would ever have to worry about taking up arms. As refugees, Levi could provide for the both of them while staying clear of occupying forces, and this was a good enough life for the time being. It was unthinkable that he could be captured and taken to an internment camp, yet Jodi found herself alone, gripped with the guilt that her brother might have sacrificed himself for her sake. Even if it really wasn't her fault, the young vixen made it her ardent mission to see Levi set free. There was no advantage in fighting an infantry droid head-on, so Jodi put all her effort into attacking the weak spots up close, where no one should have been so audacious to strike.
This one took a while... And unfortunately the paper I chose for this work was too lightweight, which translated into difficulties with marker work The paper is still mostly flat and not saturated to the point of distortion as was the case with "Solitaire"! I tried a few different coloring techniques here, including (what I hoped would be) more bold secondary lighting, perhaps most noticeably in the electric glow. This is something I hope to learn much more about in future drawings. I also had the opportunity to design some sort of robotic soldier (actually, quite a new experience!) and the camouflage on his Kevlar-covered armor plating.

Now this is badass i woudn't want to be on the receiving end of her attacks
Wow. The colours are outstanding. Vivid and detailed.
It's a great action shot, too. Very dramatic.

Wow... I don't know what to say. You're amazing, my friend. Nice little story to go with it, and hell, a lot of flippin' details in that! It's perfectly designed. Great job!
Alright...it's finished! Turned out just as good as I thought it would. Outstanding job!
I absolutely love the background you put together for this, and how the lushness of the forest contrasts with the gracelessly mechanical look of the robot fighter. It really emphasizes how alone Jodi is against her enemies, just as the sparseness of her gear helps to make her fight seem that much more desperate. Though I can't help but wonder a little about the people she's fighting. I can't decide if the little bits of camouflage on the big, shiny metal robot look more careless or arrogant. (Which isn't to criticize your design, you understand! Regardless of intent, the robot looks really cool.)
I really like the little bit of background you wrote for this, too. The picture is fantastic all by itself, but the story is the final touch that really makes it shine, I think. It really makes you want to know what happens to Jodi and her brother, and to hope they make it out okay. Whether or not you plan to do any more with this character, I think she's fantastic!

Thank you! I really like all the comments you made :D The note you made on the incomplete use of camouflage was very insightful, and I hadn't planned it but I'm glad the reckless confidence of her enemy showed in that way!
You DO need to do more art involving action and visible tension. The manifestation in her expression is quite striking!
Wow, awesome! The colorwork is beautifully done. I like how you did more than just put a bunch of green in the background, but instead added some flowers and other spots of color here and there. Nice story behind the image, too!
Thanks! I'm making greater efforts to add a little bit of color in my backgrounds :)
absolutely gorgeous. So much going on that flows perfectly together, so fierce too!
I hope the handle of her knife is non-conductive or she might get a rather nasty jolt from the wires she is cutting.
"Holy shit" was the first thing going through my mind !
Very awesome piece of work, I love the fierceness and the nature around :)
(Also, wires never sparkle like that, not single ends, they got to touch something to sparkle, and sparks only come in the moment of touch, when there's already a connection then depending on current you gether get fire and smoke on the wire end, or that inside the robot/device/whatever. Don't believe movies :P)

This makes perfect sense, and I feel like I trusted the movies a bit too much--not a good thing :P But thank you for pointing that out!
Better than pen and colored marker on blah- blah Tablet... RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!!
Wow I very much enjoy the smooth coloring on this piece. You did it alot of justice and I would love to say it would look wicked framed and on my wall...coughs...I mean a wall!
I look forward to seeing more work from you in the future. Lucky for me I didn't get working on the digital piece yet cause I just ordered my wacom tablet today :)

Y'know, some people went to a lot of trouble to design and build that!!
Great image. "Skinny" Attack and Recon droids rarely work alone.
oh my, I adore your drawings. I just love how detailed and dynamic is this art, awesome work!
Remind me never to get on this girl's bad side. It seems to be...unhealthy. ;)
whoa, that's one way to remove the stress of losing a brother to the camps... damn...
I'm not 100% sure as to what YOU envisioned this piece as, but I love it. I actually used it as a vague framework for an RP that I did about two years ago. You are a spectacular artist. Don't stop doing what you do! ^_^
