Hard to keep track of where everything is getting properly posted... don't mind me!
You all can blame my significant other for purchasing Pokemon Black for the DS as a gift (He got White for himself). I've been revisiting a lot of my favorites from way, way back to the originally 150 and all that jazz.
I always though it was a tad dark to capture little animals and train them to beat the pulp out of other little animals. I know, no one dies. There is just a lot of fainting involved... but it was a fun place to fiddle a while.
Ahaha, nerd moment got the better of me to put a fire stone on her belt.

On a side note, if you have a favorite pokemon with a favorite move leave a comment on this one and I might pick it up over the next month or two. I'm in the mood and I'd like to keep it rolling.

I recently started playing Pokemon black/white and the fire starter pokemon can use it. I'm not sure which generation it was introduced but its pretty common for gen. V. I played red and stopped and only got back into it so there is a huge time gap for pokemon for me. Flame Charge is one of the options that a bred arcanine can learn to my understanding. Its this cool spinning fire thing at any rate. Bulbapedia has a page for it if you wanted more info: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w...../Flame_Charge_(move)
oh i dunno if i agree with it i mean its a game! but he makes a good point i just found your comment amusing since, game theory did a 3 part episode on just that! i thought i'd post it in case you hadnt seen it!
but he's right to some degree i mean new pokemon conquest pretty much taking that to a whole new level don't you think? nations of waring pokemon trainers! its practically screaming they are war machines! i think if pokemon was a more adult show this theme would defiantly be hit on.
but i dont think it is a bad game for kids, they dont make that connection... it is just a game and nothing more.

Eh, I have real issues with pinning child issues anywhere else other than the parents to be completely honest. I see enough of them buying what I feel is really inappropriate games for young kids. I wanted this lady get talked into buying lollipop chainsaw by her two sons despite its very obvious mature content. They were somewhere in the neighborhood of 10... maybe 12 to be generous. Not to suggest that pokemon isn't aimed at young kids, but if they think its a problem they shouldn't buy it (or perhaps do a bit of homework) before making entertainment purchases.
There are a lot of positive themes in pokemon like friendship, persistence though hardship, growing up, bonding with animals, goal setting, seeing the world, etc. I didn't really see that mentioned much in the videos but I think I would endorse pokemon as a kids game.
