It had only been a few days since we had arrived from the hospital, and yet we were returning again. I grit our teeth at the thought of any harm coming to our young cub. Our hind foot tapped absentmindedly in impatience. M'Lai wasn't sure what to do and had sent us to a hospital. It was here that I had woken up, confused and afraid. I mouthed the words I wished I could find the strength to shout out loud...
"Dear God, please... please... I know we haven't talked in a long time, that I may have left from you, but I need your help now more than ever... whatever is wrong with Frosteyes, please please please ... please fix it..."
Tears drizzled down the sides of our face as I tried to hold it all together. A female voice echoed through my lips, "Are you ok, Vox?"
I licked our dry lips and tried to maintain my composure. I answered her, "I'll be fine... I'm just worried for Frosteyes... do you have any idea what happened?"
"I know you were asleep during the time... but I already told you everything... shi was acting strange, shi wouldn't respond to me and kept crying whenever I stopped talking... I ... I don't know anything else..."
With a sigh our body relaxed and leaned up against a nearby counter. Hopefully we would find out soon... With slow and precise footsteps the doctor finally made an appearance,"Shir Diamondstripe... I have some bad news for you...
Our minds panicked, but we held our composure until we found out what had happened...
"Your cub, Frosteyes is blind. Shi's not only missing the optic nerves required to see, but shi also has a significant portion of hir visual cortex never developed. There are a few things we can try, but even advance science may never be able to fix your daughter's sight." The doctor's head lowered and waited for our response.
A single voice echoed from our lips, our combined thoughts finally converging at a happy middle ground. "May we see hir?"
"Of course... this way..." The doctor guided.
Merely seconds after seeing our daughter, we immediately broke into tears. We had no idea how this would affect our family or our cub, but we wanted only the best for hir. We lifted the confused cub up and into our arms, cradling hir gently. Tears still streaking down our face uncontrollably.
Midsnow stood in the corner of the room, unsure what to do. Shi carefully approached the sight and wrapped hir arm around us. Shi cooed softly at the both of us, doing hir best to calm us down. Shi gently spoke, "It'll be ok... We'll find some way to get through this... Together."

Awww. *hugs* It'll be alright. Chakats are resilient creatures and even blind shi'll grow up to be a strong. ^^ Though...*thinks for a moment* if science can't find a way for hir to see...perhaps there is a way through magic. I could look into this for you, if you wish, Diamonstripe.
*gently hugs diamondstrip and gives soft scritches behind Frosteyes ears* Just remember to be happy for hir too, shi's a chakat and so likely already can feel your emotions when you touch or are close by. Like you said shi doesn't understand, and shi won't understand why hir mommies cry for hir when nothing is wrong.
*purrs softly and gives Frosteyes a gentle nuzzle, whispers to the chakitten* You are going to have an amazing life.

Hir ears and paws can now help her out along with hir senses to see as well. Either way you will find a way you guys will find a way and sometimes the blind can see even better than those with sight. Also with the family shi has i doubt anyone will be able to help the little cub out as well.
