I finally found a puppy to reference for the youngest character in my story, Kip! :D

Kip is the orphan that Isaac sort of adopts after he catches him trying to steal from his shop. He's a small grey mutt (or rather species unspecified) and even though he's never had an education, he's a really fast learner, excels at math for his age (probably around 12 in human years?), and is "mechanically enclined" as Isaac would say. He's had a number of small inventions, his most prominent being an animated grappling hook which seems to have a mind of its own when there are skirts nearby ^////^ The term Gearling is in reference to the fact that Kip is Isaac's apprentice. (This is circa 1880's btw, so my whole writing is steampunk)
