As promised before, here's a bit of a peak at the Western comic Tacticalsnake and I are doing. Snake will be the artist for the comic, but since he's busy with many things I'm helping with character designs. All the outfits are based on, if not straight up period garb.
Starting on the left is Everret, the opposum. He's a huckster, thief and cheater of varieties, and the hero of the story. His clothing is a fancy get-up, including a nice suit, as gamblers tended to use to show off, though the tails on it are a bit of flare that we decided would accentuate the character. The hat is sort of a 'lucky item' and is based off of the very fancy stetson worn by Ben Wade in the new '3:10 to Yuma'.
The girl next to him is Lucille, a 'fallen dove' that Everret has a special relationship with. Unlike most prostitutes of the old west, she's very attractive. Very attractive prostitutes were so rare back then that they were major draws for bars, as even being able to see them would bring in business, and bars would offer them huge retainers. That's where Lucille stands, and Everret puts a great deal of his dirty money toward her.
The kid is Cody, an orphan picked up by Everret. In those days, Eastern orphanages would slim their numbers with 'orphan trains', where they'd pack orphans onto trains and go town to town pawning them off to anyone who needed another bit of free labor. Everret picks up Cody because he's a natural thief, and because a cute kid can be very useful in shcemes.
The big mother fucker is Remington Lafitte, more often known as 'Cajun' Remy. He's an ex-confederate officer from New Orleans whom, along with dozens, if not hundreds of others, claims to be an illegetimate decendant of Jean Lafitte's (no connection to my character). He's prideful of his home and the south, and passionately devoted to his men, though also a true psychopath. After the war he took his unit and renovated them into a 'south-will-rise-again' gang, but in the many years since the war, they're really just thieves anymore.

Is the big guy an alligator? I'm sort of getting that impression from the zig-zaggy jaw line. Actually, my first impression was Bangaa, since you usually bless your Bangaas with those, but alligator was my second guess after I noticed the lack of ears and the fact that this is an original non-fan thing.
